I need a set of Chevy center caps for my wagon. They would have to fit into a 3" diameter hole in the wheels I have and be of the snap-in variety. They also need to give me at least 3/4" of clearance beyond the surface of the wheel.

Can anyone think of a stock chevy application that fits the bill?

If it fits, that is. I have been scanning ebay and very few listings show any measurements. Even when they do, it is very hard to be sure.

So far it looks like late 70s and early 80s Camaro, S-10, Monte Carlo, Corvette may be the best candidates for proper fitment.

I wish I had a few examples to try out.

If it helps, the PMD center caps I have for the Pontiac Rally IIs (1968) are 2 3/4" in diameter. That's the bolt-on repro cap anyway...I had to pull them off and find an NOS set because the repro's didn't clear the dust cap on my front wheel hubs. Front discs likely wouldn't be a problem with that design.

Yeah, the dust caps are an issue on my car as well. I need at least 3/4" beyond the surface of the wheel to make them work. But the biggest trouble is the 3" diameter of the hole in the wheel.

I wish all of the center cap listings had such good pics and measurements. I can tell with certainty that those will not do the job.

I saw a really cool Chevelle center for wire wheels (hubcap style) but it was just one by itself and I don't know how big it was. A set of those would be very cool.

I'm guessing that I may have to mod something.

I think I can find some left over Chevette hubcaps at the Wilmington plant the next time I am there. I know how much you admire quality GM products and would want these collector caps on your car ASAP.
