November 12, 200718 yr Which means, if we get invite to LA autoshow, nobody will be going. Detroit, here we come!
November 12, 200718 yr If you were hoping for anything big or cool from GM at the LA show....don't. Booo!!
November 12, 200718 yr This was on the LA Auto Show website: The Chevrolet Aveo was redesigned in 2007 and the new 2009 Aveo5 5-door hatchback is the newest update to the line. Featuring excellent fuel economy and bold new looks, it’s the most affordable car in America. Not only does it offer the lowest cost of ownership in the sub-compact segment and surprising standard features like OnStar, the Aveo5’s new, higher output 1.6-liter, 4-cylinder engine with variable valve timing provides opportunities to have fun behind the wheel while still saving fuel. LA Auto Show: 2009 Chevrolet Aveo5 Not really exciting, but good news, I guess. A much need improvement for GM's entry level car. It needs all the help it can get to combat the Fit. Will this be the first application of the new compact 6-speed developed by Daewoo? That would be exciting.
November 12, 200718 yr No, that's in the 4-cylinder Malibu, the Epica an the 4-cylinder LaCrosse (China).
November 12, 200718 yr No, that's in the 4-cylinder Malibu, the Epica an the 4-cylinder LaCrosse (China). Well damn. I thought it was going to be smaller than the 6T40. Is the 6T40 and 45 the only transmission GM Daewoo and GM Powertrain are working on together? Is there something smaller coming online at a later date? Edited November 12, 200718 yr by Derek77

November 13, 200718 yr Well, I guess that's smart on GM's part... I mean, it's not like they need any positive PR or attention in L.A. or California in general for that matter. (Much sarcasm implied)
November 13, 200718 yr Maybe GM is taking a page from it's foreign competitors in making sure they only introduce vehicles that are ready for production, rather than introducing them a year early. With all the hype around the Malibu, introducing a "hot" new vehicle right now might not be the right thing to do.
