November 13, 200718 yr will we see "better" mileage from the '08 SS than the '07 SS/SC? just curious...
November 13, 200718 yr I discussed this in the SEMA Cobalt SS release. Theoritically we should see an increase in the mileage for the following reasons: 1. DI is more efficient the the regular 2.0 used in the supercharged SS. 2. The DI turbo gives better gas mileage in the Kappas than the 2.4 ecotec, although the final gear ratio for the DI version is lower than the ecotec. Assuming the same for the Cobalt we can see a couple of mpg jump in the highway mileage compared to the 2.4L. 3. Generally turbocharger is more fuel efficient than supercharger.
