Probably another stupid name game that they have been playing lately, adding number after G. Probably G7, or G9 maybe? or G8.5? I hate this new naming scheme that Pontiac is using these days. They should hire someone just to name cars, since they desperately need HELP in naming their cars. They can always use old names that they discarded like Phoenix, Fiero, Sunfire, Can Am, 6000, J2000, Star Chief, Safari, Lemans, Grand Lemans, Parrisienne, or their concept car names like Salsa(I think that will fit this car perfectly), Protosport4, Rageous, Banshee, Stinger, Piranha or others, but they just don't want to do it and likes to play the number game, so.........

G8 SportUte.

or

G8 SportBed.

or

G8 SUT ?

Ute.... plain and simple

I'd love to see the alphanumeric naming scheme go away for Pontiac, but don't see it happening soon...but how about something like Pontiac G8 Camina?

Camina is evocative of El Camino but different..

Pontiac GLUte

Pontiac Sprint

Pontiac Syclone

Pontiac Cabellero

Pontiac Pickup Truck

Odds are it'll be the "G8 Series" just like they do with the G6. So I'd see the G8 Series as:

- G8 Sedan

- G8 Wagon

- G8 Activity

Odds are they market it as an "active lifestyle" vehicle, much like Honda tried to do with the Element, Nissan did with the Xterra or what Pontiac intend for the Aztek. Mountain bikes, surfboards or kayaks are likely props for the auto show debut.

I'd like to see a donkey in the bed at the autoshow debut. :AH-HA_wink:

:ohyeah:

EDIT: Why don't we have a burnout smiley?

If it had not been used so recent Transport would be a good name. But too many will remember the goofy over done minivan.

Sad but true.

Actually, no one remembers the Transport. And even it wasn't that bad. Good name.

>>"Camina is evocative of El Camino but different.."<<

YAK !!

>>"TailG8 "<<

F'ing yes!

Actually surprised not to see 'Safari' in here. I like 'Transport' too; either one would suit me fine, but I'm still smiling over TailG8.

I like TranSport too. It fits the vehicle well. Most likely if it's used, it will be G8 TranSport.

Pontiac G8 Ute would also work, though it's not creative enough.

Tank?

Terrain?

Flex?

Contract?

Transfer?

Convey?

Contract?

Does that come with a rear cover to hide the bodies?

DUH....

El Holdeno :rotflmao:

continuing with the Aussie theme:

Kookabura.

Jackaroo.

Kelpie.

I really hope GM decides on something more interesting than G8 Ute, I don't think the Ute name works well outside of Australia.

Pontiac Topkick??? well you know if they didn't already use it on the truck....

I came up with one... not sure what it means....

Pontiac Tranik or Trannik....

It's not creative, but I vote for G8 Ute and G8 Sport Wagon

G8 Comanche or G8 Apache

G8 Tornado

G8 Montana (then they could also sell the Brazilian Montana as an entry model—Safari for wagons, Montana for pickups).

G8 Canyon.

Pontiac G8 GTU

I think that is good, I was also partial to the name Trans Sport, always thought that was the coolest van name.

The car's tagline could be " The G8 that really Hauls" or "Hauls more than cargo"

1962 Holden UTE....You guys wouldn't have seen one of these before!

I am going to stick to my Pontiac G8 Trans Sport but as two words for Trans Sport.

The ad can read a The Pontiac G8 Trans Sport a Pontiac that really can Haul As... much as you like.
