December 13, 200718 yr Kurt B noted this anniversary on the Monte Carlo Mailing List before I had a chance to the other evening.... 20 years ago today (December 11) the Monte Carlo was discontinued. A quote from the GM restoration packet: "The 1988 model year marked the end of an era. The Aero Coupe had been dropped. The Monte Carlo was made available in LS and SS versions only. After approximately 3 months of production, Chevrolet opted to completely cancel the Monte Carlo model. Sadly, production ceased on Friday, December 11, 1987, at 5:29 PM." Heh ... can hardly believe it has been 20 years. Quite a lot has happened and changed since then....
