December 16, 200718 yr I went to an official unveiling of the new Ducati 848 tonight. WOW is it beautiful. That is one foreign vehicle that would look great in my garage and under my _ss. Maybe I could talk my wife into a good used Ducati Monster . . . Edited December 16, 200718 yr by Dsuupr
December 16, 200718 yr a buddy had a duck, and then an Aprilia. Italian bikes are two wheeled sex. you're allowed.
December 16, 200718 yr If I got another naked bike it would definitely be this one though.... Triumph Street Triple 675 :drool
December 16, 200718 yr Author To me a Ducati is like a Ferrari. It's a foreign vehicle worth owning. Edited December 16, 200718 yr by Dsuupr
December 16, 200718 yr gag me with a buell. ick. do people still make jokes about those things? Less than people probably make jokes about Pontiac Azteks I'd imagine. Buell is majority owned by Harley Davidson. The Harley V-Rod (VRSC) is interesting in its own way as well.
December 17, 200718 yr If I got another naked bike it would definitely be this one though.... Triumph Street Triple 675 :drool ohhh, i love triumphs. Harleys are fine enough and i love VRods but nobody take buells seriously. Edited December 17, 200718 yr by regfootball
December 17, 200718 yr What exactly is wrong with Buells? The XB9R Firebolt my uncle had was quite the bike. Sure, it's no Ducati. Have you ever ridden one? Try it before you judge.
December 17, 200718 yr My best friend co-ops for Harley and brags all day long about how sweet Buell is. I know nothing about bikes, but if I got one, it'd probably be a Buell.
December 17, 200718 yr with ducatis and bmw's and triumphs and all the sweet rice bikes out there, there is nothing appealing about a buell that would inspire me to ride one. If i did ride one and like it i would give it its due as far as being capable, but if i wanted a harley i would just cut to the chase and get a vrod and be done with it. i don't read up a lot on bikes these days but what i do read, it doesn't give me the impression that it is class leading, and i don't hear that from my motorcycle riding buddies either. If the buells were top in class i would suspect that knowledge would be more common. 'sure, it's no ducati'. you said it yourself. Edited December 17, 200718 yr by regfootball
December 17, 200718 yr Reg, do you turn your sensibility on and off at will? You seem to contradict yourself alot depending on the subject. America, go drive the effing cars yourselves and make your own selection.
December 17, 200718 yr the buell is quite possibly the ugliest sport bike on the market and that includes hondas and suzukis. so that's pretty much where i am at with that.
December 18, 200718 yr well i suppose that -is- true. although these days there are plenty of newer uglier hondas and toyotas and other vehicles on the market that make the tek seem fairly mainstream. i don't dispute that the buell is a well engineered motorcycle. It's just that if i ever got into motorcycling again after 20 plus years, the bike i get is gonna be sexy. whether its that triumph, or a v rod, or a new concours, or a victory. the unique features of the buell to me are what makes it look a bit clumsy. the huge brake disc, the tall motor, the tank frame etc.
December 18, 200718 yr You had no problem buying the ugliest vehicle on the market.... I know little about bikes but I do know what I like the looks of. Yamaha R1 The Triumphs are cool...also I like the VRod.
December 18, 200718 yr I love Yamaha's...and the R1 is definitely no exception. One of my favorite bikes.
December 18, 200718 yr When I look at a Buell, I am visually entertained. I personally don't like the "decked in plastic" looks of most sport bikes. The Firebolt in particular is like a cross-breed of a naked bike and a full bodied bike. It's the best of both worlds. As well, it's innovative. It doesn't follow the mold. The disk brakes and the exhaust are particularly cool. Buell's are like the muscle cars of sport bikes. Full of personality, simplistic, yet muscular. It's by far my favorite. As much of a Honda bike lover I am, I'd much rather have a Buell. Edited December 18, 200718 yr by blackviper8891
December 18, 200718 yr My Dad swears by BMW bikes. He has one in the garage from the 70's that we are restoring on and off, and he thinks I'm insane that I'm in love with this thing...
