I better hope those tires are pretty skinny, cause if they ARE 335 series tires, they'll be taller than the car!!!

    There's nothing incorrect about that. I guess you could interpret it to mean the sidewall, but if you say you have a "275 series" tire, that indicates its 245mm wide where it contacts the road.

    Do a search for "275 series tires" on google and see what comes up.
