As of today, I have DSL.

Oh what a wonderful thing it is. Sure, it's not the fastest thing.. but compared to dial up, it's a virtual heaven. I can actually watch videos without the 30 second pauses as it downloads only 3 seconds worth of video. As well, myspace's excessive ads no longer haunt me. Chris's habit of posting overly large pictures of debut vehicle no longer makes me whine about it everytime I chat with him. Downloading music can occur within minutes... instead of hours. Having to wait for my brother to get off the phone will never happen again. And porn... it just got alot more exciting. :P

Also went from cable to satellite today, as well. My dad sort of went all out. So I now get to enjoy 250 channels of television, 5% of which I'll watch. Not to mention the Sirius satellite radio that was included.

It's been a joyous day... besides the fact that I only got 3 hours of sleep.

BV, you sound like a DSL commercial....

well, up until this...

..does that mean you're going to post MORE on C&G  Is that even possible?

Means more half-naked pictures of this boy that will be uploaded. :P

Couldn't change it until I move anyways... :(

Well, to be fair, I had to wait about two days before I could use my Broadband connection. Our phone lines needed a DSL upgrade.

How close are your neighbors? If they're close by, buy yourself a wireless PCI adapter, odds are a few have unsecured wireless networks running, just piggyback off their wireless network, and viola your surfing high speed! :AH-HA_wink: Just a thought, but you never heard it from me. :scratchchin:

Considering I barely post these days... I'd say it's very possible. I used to post 20 times per day. Now it's more like 5, and that's if I'm feeling frisky. :P

I could never go back to dialup.

I've been spending far too much time this past week+ trying to get my DSL running- after running a new line/jack from the junction box, I believe either the phone co has the wrong wiring for my needs or the DSL modem is wrong. Sigh. There's a reason why I slogged along with DU for 8 years- doing so didn't cause me headaches.

I could never go back to dialup.

*nods*

I didn't realize how SLOW dialup is...until we got rid of ours ... and then I visited some friends who have dialup and tried to check just my Email. Oye!

Haha, I dont know....that might as well be part of ads for high speed now. :P

congrats on the upgrade. we're on cable here, and running a wireless network through the house really helps with keeping all three desktops and the laptop running when everyone wants to play on the computers.

Since I got my HP laptop in June (I've been on high speed for a couple years now), then a wireless router a month or so ago, I can upload, download anywhere I want - including in my underwear out on the terrace. (Well, not NOW, it's cold out!)

Dial up is fine if you want to message our great Aunt Millie, but any kind of pictures or data is agonizing on dial up! Even so-called 'high speed' dial up.

I'm pretty sure that's what I'm using, and it's well worth it!
