January 11, 200818 yr Yeah, I was at my BPG dealership, and "my" salesman mentioned the G8 is due in a couple or three weeks. I wanna see this thing.
January 11, 200818 yr Author Yeah, I was at my BPG dealership, and "my" salesman mentioned the G8 is due in a couple or three weeks. I wanna see this thing. We may not see one in PA for quite some time yet - I wanna see it too!
January 11, 200818 yr I'm curious to see the G8 in person as well. The concept wheels on the car pictured make a huge difference! I'm still not sure about the hood scoops, but otherwise IMO the G8 looks far less "cartoon-y" than the CTS-V. Bring on the GXP with the 6-speed manual!
January 11, 200818 yr I can't wait to see one either, I missed it last year at the NYIAS. The one in that pic looks hot. Hopefully the US train delivering them oesn't derail like the one that was delivering one of the first GTO shipments. Love the bit on the Torana too. That car can't come soon enough for Holden - hopefully noone stops them from going through with it.
January 11, 200818 yr I'm looking forward to seeing one..the G8 didn't make it to my local auto show last year, so I have yet to see one.
January 11, 200818 yr Hopefully the US train delivering them doesn't derail like the one that was delivering one of the first GTO shipments. like this?
January 11, 200818 yr That picture still stabs me in the heart. Yeah...why couldn't it have been a train load of Grand Prixs going to Avis?
January 11, 200818 yr When and where was that? Yeah...why couldn't it have been a train load of Grand Prixs going to Avis? Or a boat load of Turds or priuses sinking in the Mariana Trench.
January 11, 200818 yr Author If I remember right, it was an early load of 05s somewhere in the midwest. And there are even uglier pics of the wreck.
January 11, 200818 yr it was 05's train derailed in iowa on its way to chicago... somewhere this was a pic of all the cars lined up in a parking lot after they were pulled outta the wreckage.. sad site indeed... i believe some guy in cleavlend bought the whole lot and parted them all out
January 11, 200818 yr Hopefully the US train delivering them oesn't derail like the one that was delivering one of the first GTO shipments. I wasn't near it I swear! I was thousands of miles away, that day. Honest!
January 11, 200818 yr I wanna see it too! Chalk up another "I want to see it". Not that I'd be able to afford it, of course, but I'd like to take a closer look at it, anyway. January 11, 200818 yr I am thus far anti-G8.... But Pontiac needs a hit desperately and I hope this is it... The line up is starting to look pretty decent now. The G8, possible wagon, ST and GXP versions, a refreshed G6 line soon, a new Vibe, facelifted Solstice with a targa or coupe option. Maybe it'll eek by yet
January 11, 200818 yr Yeah, I was at my BPG dealership, and "my" salesman mentioned the G8 is due in a couple or three weeks. I wanna see this thing. same here. i really think, for the first time in a long time, that this is the type of car that is perfect for me, at least in terms of driving enjoyment.
January 11, 200818 yr I was at one of the BPG dealers last week (not the nearest one to me... I felt like driving a few miles). He had told me, then, 3-6 weeks. So it lines up to what the OP said. Either way, I'll be there to look at it up close.
January 11, 200818 yr If GM were smart they would have some G8s present at the Detroit show this year to keep people's interest ongoing about this car.
January 11, 200818 yr Author If GM were smart they would have some G8s present at the Detroit show this year to keep people's interest ongoing about this car. I'm sure they will, I just hope one makes it to the Philly show.
January 11, 200818 yr I'm sure they will, I just hope one makes it to the Philly show. Speaking on that topic, no special GM media day event like last year Camino? And I haven't taken a sick day all school year yet!
January 11, 200818 yr I'm really anticipating sitting inside one of these and checking out its materials and everything else. I nitpicked the Malibu and couldn't really find much wrong because I was very impressed with the new 'bu over the old one. Comparing the G8 to the GP will be easy, I'm sure, but I'll be critical. I'm already impressed design-wise though.

January 11, 200818 yr That happend in my state what discrase. Yeah I was hoping to see one when I pick up my Torrent with my son tonight. Were going to a BPG super store!
January 12, 200818 yr I've been trying to find out the EPA fuel economy numbers for the V6 version of the G8 but haven't been able to find any information yet. They have had the V8's numbers on fueleconomy.gov for a while now. Anyway, I've seen a few undisguised G8's cruising around (a benefit of living in metro Detroit) and I thought it looked pretty good in person. The last one I saw was a few months ago but it was a bright red GT. It looked hot! I can't wait to check it out up close at NAIAS.
