Spied - 2010 Cadillac BRX Resembles Provoq Concept

Featured Replies

We’ve just got the latest spy photos of the up-and-coming Cadillac BRX crossover, and it looks like we were right - the resemblance between this future luxury sport-utility and the recent Provoq concept are uncanny.

So how’s this a Caddy and not a Chevy (Equinox)? We’re seeing a character line down the side of the prototype that starts high at the C-pillar, and runs lower as it progresses towards the front fenders. Also notice the window line that’s outlined in chrome; a similar treatment adorns the new CTS‘ window frames as well. Headlamps appear to be stacked in Cadillac’s “new traditional” style; likewise, we can somewhat see a very sharp edge for the taillamps - another Caddy cue.

I for one am just SHOCKED :omfg: that the Provoq was a concept for the BRX. Shocked I tell you.

:P

Am I the only one who sees very little resemblance to the Provoq concept? The entire greehouse is different. I mean, I know it may chenge a little to production, and that this is camoflaged...but this looks off...

The greenhouse is different, unless that's a really good masking job they did with the tape. The character line is not nearly as dramatic either as it starts higher up the body in front. The door handles are higher up to. The tailgaet is more formal and upright as well as more rounded. THe C-pillar is differently shaped and not blacked out. Are they blind?

So is is GM's idea of how to run the company? Kill off all of the RWD stuff like Zeta and give everyone FWD stuff including Cadillac? Isn't that what led Cadillac down the path of destruction the first time?

What a FWD Zeta? Hey that may be a good idea! :smilewide:

Anyway this vehicle looks like a Theta to me.

As we're discussing on GMI...thanks to Autoblog yet again for being completely wrong, but this is NOT the Cadillac.

First and foremost, even just compare the upper body/window profiles to the Provoq, and it's clear what this mule is not.

It is thought to be possibly the new Chevy Equinox and/or GM variant, among other possibilities, though. But not a Cadillac.

OR, maybe I'm one of the ones that's wrong...but I won't think so, unless there's more proof beyond the online auto blogs and such, which are often wrong.

Virtually no styling cues that could construed as Cadillac.

Certainly hope that these photos aren't of the BRX.

This looks like the new Equinox to me...I'm seeing a Chevy split grill in the front, am I correct?

What's with the uberhigh beltline? It makes the wheels look tiny and the lower half massive. Sort of like the LaCrosse concept pics we've seen.

Certainly hope that these photos aren't of the BRX.

I thought I could see a Chevy grille, too.

Hopefully, this is NOT a Caddy.

You SeE it's easy to QUestion It's ideNtity, perhaps it's nOt a BRX

:smilewide:

No it must be an Equinox. I thought I caught the grill too.

Hey--I was going to say that! :AH-HA_wink:

have all the car news sites gone retarded?

That's the equinox...

THIS is the BRX...and it's practically identical to the Provoq...
