The rear of this car is nearly identical to the Cobalt's. The car though is really stunning. I love the front end. It's very simple, but very elegant. And the interior is the best I've seen in a Ferrari.

Ferrari

OMFG!! that is hysterical. :P

Yeah, it's close!
Even the front is a bit Caddillac-ish. Check out the way the headlights meet the foglights. Maybe I am stretching on that one though. :)

Yeah, I think the front end could be kinda Cadillac-ish too. Can't you just see some future Cadillac with the same exact headlights? I wonder why GM didn't think of making the same exact tailights for the Impala? These tailights look good on the Ferrari, but I think they would've looked good on the new Impala as well.
Hmmmm... if it's a Cobalt-inspired Ferrari, does the interior suffer from that hard-plastic?
I'm with Zora A. Stupid conclusion to say it's near-identical to the Cobalt because the Cobalt is like $20,000 and this is easily 5 times more expensive and better quality. Whoa. Quad round taillights.

Quad round tatil lights are older than ther Cobalt, Ferrari & not to mention Corvette.
I am starting to hate the fuction over form factor that is going on in current car design. I love fuction when it comes to motors and brakes/suspensions (nothing better then looking at huge vented cross drilled disc brakes and pistons) but when it comes to design it seems some of the grace is disappearing. The Enzo is ugly to my eyes, the F430 is not as good looking as the outgoing 360 Modena. This also applies to many other car companies.

...and better quality.

Are you sure?? farrari has built many shoddy-quality vehicles in their near-past. I remember reading a link to a ferrari owner forum where a common complaint was paint blowing off the nose while driving. Among other problems.

Quite frankly ferrari has had more consistantly awful interior design than many other makes from all walks of automotive life.

The rear end is butt-ugly, another crappy use of quad tail lights, somehow eveing uglier than the Cobalt. I still have yet to see a better design than the R34:

I agree, the reason every mainstream car looks so similar today is because the ropes have been tightened so much that designers don't have as much free will to sculpt the car into unique shapes. Everybody is so worried about having the most headroom or the most trunk space that we end up with these bloated cars with high beltlines, and then you have all these pedestrian standards to worry about so they have to make sure that the grille and hood are as smooth as a baby's bottom. Practicality schmacticality I say.
