Ford Equator Concept Unveiled in Tokyo
zzzzzzzzZZ... what? oh sorry. I thought I was looking at a bright orange Escape. Oh wait. I am. Sorry Ford, but when you release a concept on the same day as the GT-R concept(a japanese sports car legend) in Tokyo, it's just not going to be as interesting.
It's an Escape...

Yeah..probably something like how the next Escape will look..

Yeah I thought it was to be a preview U.S.A-spec EcoSport, the Escape Jr. Looks alright but what's the point?
Rework the grill and Light's, and this could actually be a pretty cool Mid-Life Refreshment for the Escape.
griffon already said it's the MCE for the Escape, did anybody listen to that? It's nice, I happen to like the grille and the headlights, they should make it to production as is. But this is just a refresh, nothing too drastic. The Eck looks better than it.

Why is Ford copyin GM by using earth science terms (Solstice,Equinox)

It's in keeping with their 'E' names for SUVs...also it's a reuse--IIRC there was an Avalanche-like show truck version of the Expedition called the Equator a few years ago..
The new Escape looks nice. The grille reminds me of a Saab too.

Hey Ford, SAAB called, they want they're front end styling back.

LOL, I thought the exact same thing... Chevy's Trailblazer design team called too, they want their back end styling back (TB SS rear end?)
GOD DAMN FORD IS COMING OUT WITH SOME UGLY STEERING WHEELS AND INTERIOR TRIMS.

It apes the 2006 Explorer, F150 and South American Ranger. Unfortunately it will be torn to shreds by the new crossovers from, oh, Everyone (you name them and they have one).
Isn't the Escape based on the Mazda 626? How long do they intend on keeping that platform around?
Getting so sick of Ford and there barely different new models and been there done that styling. Also sick of so many darned SUV's and crossovers!

Aww... Id'den't dat cute? Ford's playing catch up.

Well, on a serious note, I can say that Land Rover DNA has trickled down to Ford again. It started with the Fairlane and than this pathedic excuse for a concept. I mean, the color and fasica are distillations of the Range Stormer concept.

Now, anyone remember the Hummer-esque penis extention from the 2000 Detroit Show with the same name as this thing? That was a concept.
