GM looking at competing with the Nano

Featured Replies

If everyone else is going to build cars like Tata's headline-grabbing Nano, GM's going to pile on, too. The Lutz cites GM's part-ownership stake in Wuling Motors, a Chinese manufacturer of sub-$3,000 utility vehicles as a possible source of a GM Nano competitor. Lutz went on to say that one way to make an inexpensive car for the developing world is to repurpose a legacy platform that has become obsolete. The tooling and design will have long been paid off, and there'll be plenty of experience from the manufacturing side, too. Read the whole article here.

They better make it RWD with an LS7 so Camino will buy it, and no B pillar so 68 will be satisfied too. :rotflmao:

What they sell in India is of no concern to me.

The right product for the right market is the key aspect.

It would never be legal here, and if it was, no one would buy it.

There should be a concern only if they want to discontinue the CTS and bring this over as a replacement.

Sure they would, all the illegals would, and all the Indian nationals in the country would. There are about 60 million sales right there. :AH-HA_wink:

You're dreaming PCS, The Indian Nationals in this country are here because they aspire to something better. They won't buy a glorified golf cart.

I think you just insulted the golf cart Camino.

The Indians in the US drive primarily drive Camrys and Corollas, at least the H-1B software engineers I know do..

Because we can totally generalize all Indians into those categories. :duh:

Whats sad is that it is mostly true...

Kinda like assuming that all Japanese car enthusiasts must be into the import scene...or that they're loyal by default to Japanese makes.

Less of that kind of thought would probably be a good thing... <_<
