It was getting kind of quiet around here concerning the NG LaCrosse. Hope I haven't stepped on anyone here, but I was playing around with the desires of others to see the Riviera design language grafted to what we know of the preproduction car spied. Here's a very quick and crude interpretation done on top of one of Chris' shots. And I have taken the liberty of calling it Regal.

Enjoy.

Thank you very much for doing this! We'll see precisely how close it is, but what you've done seems to work.

cool, it may not be spot on, but it is a pretty decent chop.

I seriously hope the production Lacrosse looks like that.

As crude as it is, this is a great chop. It proves that the ubiquitous midsection we've seen in spy shots can still look great if designers got the front and rear right like this.

Great chop. It could use some more development, but you did a great job of grafting the Concept Riv on the NG Regal/LaX/Allure whatever it will be called.

yep yep. GM has been really good as of late at crafting fine detailed lines that are distinct. this could be a big charmer.

Thanks folks. Sorry I didn't take the time to develop it more. I only spent about 45 minutes on it last night. If I have time I will try to clean it up, but I think it got enough camo off and respectable enough grafts that it shows that this car could be a stunner if Buick and GM are willing to stick to the refined details and proportions that show up on the concepts of late.

I would be surprised if they transfered that much of the design. Though the Riv is only a concept, if they decided to move forward with the coupe (which I believe they will, in some form) there has been too much development done to give the exact design away to another car. What we will most likely see are subtle cues in a much less daring, consumer-oriented package.

My biggest fear, based on looking at the spy shots, is that they are going to put those big light pods from the Enclave directly onto the LaCrosse. Take a look at the current Chinese LaCrosse, which will evolve into the newer car we see in these spy shots. It has a very similar pod, which IMHO is too big and busy. Looks great on the Enclave, a CUV, but not on a refined car.

I don't really like the Riviera concept, but that chop you made is a really nice looking sedan; I love it. I just wish Buick would pick one design language and stick with it.

Tone down the front end a little and throw a bodyside molding on her and I would buy one. Make mine a 3.6 DI with 6 speed automatic.

I would love to see a Holden car in the Buick family. I slapped an Enclave grill on a Holden Caprice. Pretty cool!

I fishing around the forum and ran across the Buick Park Avenue from China! Very close to my chop!
