January 30, 200818 yr Modded '05 STi for $2900 Response from me emailing her: First of all I want to thank you for your interest for my car. I sell it at this price ($2900) because i just finished the divorce with my husband. When the divorce has finished i own this car. Now as a woman i don't need it. This car is in excellent working conditions, no scratches, flaws or any kind of damage, slightly used in 100% working and looking conditions and comes with a clear title, 3 months transferable warranty. From the begining you have to know that for the payment I request only secure pay, I prefer the payment to be done using eBay services. We will use a safe payment method because I am affiliated at eBay and I have a purchase protection account for $20.000. The final price that I want for this car is $2900 US including shipping and handling. If you are interested in buying it please provide me your full name and address so I can initiate the deal through eBay. I will wait your answer(if you are interested to buy) very soon. Nicole My reply: Do you have a link to the car? I cannot find it on Craig's List anymore, and I can't find it on eBay either. I want to check through it one more time. Also, you do realize you could make a lot of money off of this car, right? I would probably buy this car just to resell it in a few months... Thank you for the response! And her response to that: I have attached some photos of the car for you to see. The car is already at the shipping company in San Diego, CA sealed and ready for the shipping. I have a contract with eBay so this deal must go through them. I'm very busy with my job and I'm left out of the town so I can't meet in person with you so this is the reason why I chose to sell my car over the internet. According with the eBay you have 5 days from the time you receive the car to inspect it and decide if you want to keep it or not. Here is how it will work: 1.First of all I will need the following details from you: - Full Name - Full Shipping Address 2. After I will receive the details from you, I will forward them to eBay. 3. After they will process your info, they will send us both invoices. The invoice will send you the details on how to make a refundable payment. 4. eBay will contact me and I will ship the car to you. After you receive the car you will have 5 days to test, verify and do whatever you need to the car. If you will buy, then I will receive the payment details from eBay so that I can pick up the money. 5. If you will decide that you will not buy the car, eBay will refund the money and I will have the shipping company come pick up my car. If you wish to make the transaction, please send me the necessary info so that we can proceed. I look forward to hear from you. Thank you! Nicole My response: Wow, the car looks great! Do you have a VIN # and any type of documented proof of identy/ownership? I am definitely interested! Thank you again, The VIN is jf1gd70635l509768 You will receive all the documents need for you to register the car under your name including the clear title. You will have an 5 days inspection period during which you need to decide whether to accept the car or not. If you reject it, your deposit is refunded and I have to arrange shipping back for the car. If you choose to accept the car, you have to give consent so that the money is transferred to me. This works for me because I see the money exists and is held by eBay, in a secured account. It works for you too because the deposit is also insured by eBay. If you are sure about the car and want to go ahead this way, I need to know your name and address to start the transaction. You need to decide soon, at this price the car is not going to be on the market for long. Thank you ! Nicole, That sounds very safe and comforting. However, I have been advised that this is a scam. Why else would you sell a nearly brand new car that is very hot in the market and selling for $25,000-30,000 for a tenth of the price? Even if you simply didn't want the car because it's your ex-husbands, you could make at least $20,000. Unless I can be proven otherwise, I will be sending this information to eBay so nobody else gets scammed. Thanks and have a great day! January 30, 200818 yr Time to tell her that you've been advised that this is a scam, and she needs to prove otherwise, and that you will be contacting Ebay about it. Bet "she" never replies. It's probably actually some sweaty guy in Moscow.
