I stopped using Windows Media Player a while ago due to privacy issues (they transmit your data to M$) and because I've found iTunes a lot more user-friendly. Is there another software that's good though? Windows Media is easier on my Sensa.... Besides, why do I care if they get my song list? There are quite a few websites that do that...they just don't tell you.....

OMG... they're going to find out I listen to Britney Spears!!! Oh No!!!
February 3, 200818 yr Author I'm sure more than a few people still use WMP. It's not like its transmitting important data. OMG... they're going to find out I listen to Britney Spears!!! Oh No!!! Well, it's not so much what you are listening to that has some people concerned, it's whether or not they act on the information they get on whether the track was ripped from a CD (you assumedly possess) or pirated through a torrent or P2P device. Yes, they can tell that. I stopped using WMP for that ambiguity back in 2005 when someone on my floor brought the revised privacy policy to my attention. Back then, I was taking full advantage of USC's high speed and Morpheus/Shareaza, so I didn't want to be sued like the poor schmuck in the next dorm. Just some food for thought.

February 4, 200818 yr For sure. Besides, all the more music I download illegally... I think they'd rather go after someone who downloads thousands and thousands of songs, not someone who downloads a few dozen every now and then.
February 5, 200818 yr Interesting thread...I wish I could join in, but the Video I used before I got my Touch had a glitch where it would turn on Keith Urban randomly. So my entire Top 25 list is Keith, minus one song by "the Format." I've never done anything about it, so Keith dominates my top 25.

February 5, 200818 yr WMP top 10 in past couple days. Feel It Again - Honeymoon Suite Just Got Lucky - Dokken Chain Lightning - Rush Hear About It Later - Van Halen Armageddon It - Def Leppard Oh Yeah - Yello Don't Tell Me You Love Me - Night Ranger Hot Cherie - Hardline You're In Love - RATT Silhouettes In Disguise - Kansas
February 5, 200818 yr My Top 25 really isn't accurate as most of the songs played have just been randomly chosen by my player. I keep my music on all night most of the time; it helps me fall asleep. So, yeah, I don't even hear half the songs that come on. Strange part, though, is out of 13 gigs of music, 20/21 of my top played songs are Dance/Techno/Remix. Weird.. iTunes must love those songs.

My mind races unless I have something to listen to.

My mind races unless I have something to listen to. Nah, I can fall asleep either way, but I do agree that my mind races if I don't have something to listen to. My mind still sometimes races even if I do have something to listen to and I blank out the music not even realizing it. Psht. You like to pretend you're in A&F and blast that $h! while dancing around in your ripped jeans and polos. Admit it. haha Nah, I'll listen to it when it comes on, but that's not the only music I play. Hell, I usually set my playlist to Rock, Punk, or Country when I go to bed.. weird that the Dance songs would all show up in my Top 25.
February 6, 200818 yr Oooh, I thought of a way to decipher.. I only have 6 genres (very broad at that) listed in my iTunes, so I'll list the Top 5 played of each genre: Country: Wherever You Are -- Jack Ingram Measure of a Man -- Jack Ingram I Told You So -- Keith Urban So Small -- Carrie Underwood Love You -- Jack Ingram Dance: Streamline -- Newton Shake Ya Shimmy -- Happy Hardcore From Paris to Berlin -- Infernal Trebles -- MBrother Roses are Red -- Aqua Pop: End of the Road -- Boyz II Men Clothes Off -- Gym Class Heroes Catch Your Wave -- The Click Five Video Killed the Radio Star -- The Presidents of the USA Good Day -- The Click Five Punk: Wasted -- Cartel The Quiet Things That No One Ever Knows -- Brand New Misery Business -- Paramore Last Chance to Lose Your Keys -- Brand New I Don't Want to be in Love (Dance Floor Anthem) -- Good Charlotte Rap: Roses -- Outkast Baby Don't Go -- Fabolous feat. T-Pain Me Love -- Sean Kingston Lean Like a Cholo -- Down AKA Kilo Wadsyaname -- Nelly Rock: Superhuman -- Velvet Revolver Far Behind -- Candlebox Sister Christian -- Night Ranger Paralyzer -- Finger Eleven Bleed it Out -- Linkin Park Yeah, that's a little more accurate...
February 6, 200818 yr Punk: Wasted -- Cartel The Quiet Things That No One Ever Knows -- Brand New Misery Business -- Paramore Last Chance to Lose Your Keys -- Brand New I Don't Want to be in Love (Dance Floor Anthem) -- Good Charlotte Ya call that punk? Kids these days. . .
February 6, 200818 yr Author Punk: Wasted -- Cartel The Quiet Things That No One Ever Knows -- Brand New Misery Business -- Paramore Last Chance to Lose Your Keys -- Brand New I Don't Want to be in Love (Dance Floor Anthem) -- Good Charlotte Dude, none of that is punk, though Brand New is at least sorta borderline. Cartel is pop all the way--big fan over here but I'd be fascinated to know which one of their songs is the least bit punkish. Good Charlotte is about as punk as Avril Lavigne, and Paramore is definitely rock. But at least you're not listening to $h!ty music.

February 6, 200818 yr Probably not a "true" most played list... but I'll estimate a top 25 based on what I think I've listened to most. A7X - I Won't See You Tonight Part I Bright Eyes - Sunrise, Sunset Christina Aguilera - Hurt Christina Aguilera - Beautiful Eurythmics - Sweet Dreams Incubus - Anna Molly Jewel - Foolish Games Johnny Cash - Hurt Korn - Falling Away From Me Linkin Park - Numb Linkin Park - Breaking The Habit Marilyn Manson - The Beautiful People Metallica - Enter Sandman Pink - Family Portrait Nirvana - Smells Like Teen Spirit Rihanna - Unfaithful Robbie Williams - Feel Shinedown - Simple Man System of a Down - Chop Suey System of a Down - Ego Brain System of a Down - Question! The Verve - Bitter Sweet Symphony Three Days Grace - I Hate Everything About You White Stripes - Seven Nation Army Whitney Houston - I Will Always Love You
February 6, 200818 yr Not the Dolly Parton version !? *chuckles* That was my thought, too . But ... I know a few people who prefer the WH version. I am not one of 'em . February 7, 200818 yr Whitney just sings it better, quite simply. Would it be wrong to say I like them both?
March 16, 200818 yr Well, what do you know, I put my songs onto my newfound Zen and apparently WMP does have a top played count, just no way to use it. The Zen only shows the top 20, though. Some songs seem out of place and some are missing (like Johnny Cash's hurt, was already on it, but I'm sure it's in the top 5), but it's interesting. 1. Feel - Robbie Williams. 2. Ego Brain - System of a Down 3. Question - System of a Down 4. Beautiful - Christina Aguilera 5. Foolish Games - Jewel 6. Family Portrait - Pink 7. A.D.D. - System of a Down 8. Numb - Linkin Park 9. God's Going To Cut You Down - Johnny Cash 10. Falling Away From Me - KoRn 11. Spiders - System of a Down 12. I-E-A-I-A-O - System of a Down 13. I Hate Everything About You - Three Days Grace 14. Sweet Dreams - The Eurythmics 15. Roulette - System of a Down 16. Anna Molly - Incubus 17. My Immortal - Evanescence 18. Who Will Save Your Soul - Jewel 19. Just Like A Pill - Pink 20. Criminal - Fiona Apple Edited March 16, 200818 yr by blackviper8891
