Patterns: A Video Game, an M.R.I. and What Men’s Brains Do

By ERIC NAGOURNEY

Why does it often seem that men enjoy playing video games more than women? Perhaps because they do. …

N.B. A study of this size is far from conclusive, but it is indicative of what might be expected from a larger study, and the results are no surprise.

It may be that more men enjoy video games than women, but I know some avid female gamers out there that love to play as much as guys, sometimes more.

I got my wife "Manhunt 2" for the PS2 for Christmas. She wanted Turok for the XBOX360, but ours is in the shop for the dreaded Red Ring Of Death.

She actually finished "Bully" for the PS2. She can play just as long, if not longer than me when she finds a game she really likes. Now that BlueRay has the clearance, we'll pick up a PS3 soon. We both are unimpressed with the Wii and will probably not pick one up.

True that...

My GF's little bro wanted one for Christmas, so we got up at 3AM and went to stand in line. I've played it now multiple times and I just don't see what the appeal is. The graphics aren't that great and if I wanted to play a physical game I'll actually go play the game instead of trying to hit a sensor on top of my TV...

Different strokes for different folks I guess.

You can download all the old school Nintendo games on the Wii and it doesn't cost alot. So you have a MASSIVE library of games at you disposal, you can even buy a controller thats like the classic ones for under 20 bux to play the games like you did back in the day :)

Or, you can download an Emulator.

True...... but the Wii would be completely legal. :AH-HA_wink:

And its games filled with sub-par graphics that are barely better than the console it replaces.

I know you can. I've done it before, but I prefer playing the original on the TV.
