Welcome to the wonderful world of Alternative Revenue Generation. Highway F**in robbery is what I call it. But of course, there is no political lobby for "law breakers".

Wow, you committed a lot of infractions. :AH-HA_wink:

Which one was it?

You want highway robbery? Try Suffolk County Police. You sneeze and they'll write you up.

oh whatever :D

that's not robbery. robbery is when something you love and need is taken from you and you're left feeling victimized, hurt, opressed, and without something major in your life.

go on with a smile. this has happened to me many times. real robbery is when someone breaks into your car and takes precious items, which I've had happen twice to me.

It’s a veritable smorgasbord of money making opportunity, isn't it?

Your question is not easy to answer. What did I get written up for? Or what was I actually accused of doing? Or what did I actually do? Those are 3 very different things.

"Failed to stop leaving private drive, 2 pts, $120" ?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

Holy Crap OG!

And I thought the city of Livonia was getting pricey....and they will pull you over for almost anything....

Yikers.

Lemme guess ... this happened in the soon-to-be-replaced Pontiac, right?

Nope. The Trailblazer. Go figure.

Holy crap those are some cheap speeding fines!!!

26+ MPH over = $165. What a joke.

The one time I got "caught" (faulty radar or they tagged someone else) and ended up being charged with 49 km/h over, it was $349, plus about $300 to hire the lawyer to get it taken down to that. It was worth the money since the 62 km/h over I was accused of was more like a $1000 fine. They've since hiked these rates up.

Let me add to this fun list. In Toronto, if you illegally park on a busy thoroughfare, blocking traffic, the fine is $20. However, if you block a bicycle lane (on a quiet, side street, so as not to block traffic on said busy thoroughfare) the ticket is $40. I discovered this horror last year when I thought I was doing the right thing and instead of parking in front of my bank and blocking a busy street, I parked a half block away on an a quieter street. So much for common sense and doing the right thing.

In California, it is $85.00 and UP UP UP for safety belt violation.

Oh no...LOL! That is the least one I'd see you get a ticket in ... figured it was the Pontiac, given its sporty nature ;). he he.

Heh ... reminds me of when I got my 2nd speeding ticket back in 2003. It was the first day I had the older 4 MCs out and I decided to take the '81 MC SC on a bit longer drive. I was traveling down a road that just had changed speedlimits a week or so prior, from 55 down to 45 (due to new home construction). Anyway, I THOUGHT I was "safe enough", but I came over the top of a hill, spotted the cop car, looked down ... speedometer read about 52....ah, crapola.

He said he clocked me at 55. Funny thing is ... the '81 MC SC is the SLOWEST of all of my MCs... he he.

*shrugs*

I took a defensive driving class and the ticket never appeared on my record.
