1964 Ford Galaxie 500

Featured Replies

For those that feel a supercharged 425-horsepower Ford 427 just doesn't have enough sack, this badass ride also comes equipped with an 850-horsepower Turbonique turbine ROCKET DRAG AXLE!

If this is what big tobacco would like to spend their money on today, then I will start smoking immediately!

friend sent me a link to that at jalopnick, how does or is that supposed to work.

Not really sure. I would imagine that the stock differential would be modified to have some sort of simple clutch behind it; when it's engaged, the revolutions of the rear end get transferred back to spin the turbine inside the rocket portion? I'd love to read a detailed description of how this unit works.

Spectacular, beastly, sexy, hot, brutal. So cool.

Eh, it's cool, I guess. Every other Ford just sorta pales in comparison now that I've seen one with a rocket differential and ON-BOARD HAM RADIO!!

*bump*

Sorry, I just can't get over that wild rocket setup!

First time I read about this crazy-cool gadget was in HOT ROD about a decade ago.

Like most Fords from almost ANY era these Galaxies are cool but always look like

less clean, less cool and less sexy versions of GM counterparts... still this is a nice

car... solid thrust differential or not.

This is one way to make a twin-turbo Jap-ricer look pathetic. Coolness to the max!
