also... on 315 N yesterday afternoon... a Honda Prelude "Type R" haha for real it had Type R badging on it complete with windsheild sticker... clearly +10 hp each badge (there were 4 haha)... silver car with flat colored fire-engine red flames (+25 hp) it also had the optional bleacher style seating for that open air feel... or it may have been a spoiler... either way... +50 hp... the lower front fascia... or whats left of it... had clearly been met by a speed bump and quickly realized maybe 4 inches of ground clearance isnt enough... the whole drivers side front corner part of said "ground effects" was held together by duct tape (+20 hp) so if youve been keeping up... there was a prelude with 135 hp more than stock... im telling you man Corvettes are shaking in their transverse leaf springs... haha

I just saw a new Challenger in red this morning...very sweet!! I also saw another Dodge Nitro with the new whatever diesel they are going to use in them.

For lack of a better sighting, a red Citroen C2. Nice shade of red Citroen uses on that car!

I went back to the Pontiac store the other day and gave their 888 G8 GT the quick once over. I only sat in it for a minute, popped the hood and doors, and walked around it a few times.

It was nice to actually lay hands on one, and I want that ST even more now.

This morning I saw a red Solstice in a lineup of traffic surrounded by a sea of bland, silver and beige mid size sedans. Man did it ever stand out! I could never be part of that conformist parade - hats off to the Solstice owner!

In the WAWA parking lot there were some interesting high-end cars:

-An S600 V12 sedan ( friggin huge, ugly fender flares, nice sound to the exhaust)

-A CLS500 ( I still love the lines of that car)

- A super nice M3 convertible in white.

- A new Denali XLT

Plus an assortment of lexus stuff and other less interesting cars, trucks and suvs.

Small world.... this is a '79 SEDAN deVille that lives 3 miles away from me, and old couple drive it a

few times a week. It's not quite as spiffy as my '77 CVD though, the sedan has a tan interior which

just kind of pales in contrast to a white one.

I just saw a new Dakota the other day too, in red. Really nice improvement, and still a fantastic looking truck. Not sure how much the schnoz and HO engine will help, as it's a truck, but very well could.

Back in the 97-98 timeframe, you could get a regular cab Dakota 4x2 with the 5.2 to make one hell of a sleeper pickup. I'm not sure, the 5.9 may have also been available in 4x2 regular cab configuration too. This dropping of regular cabs (Nissan is also guilty, Ford is too, kinda, I dont get those mini-doors on the F-150) is just sad.

Yeah, Toni, I've seen two SVXs lately. One green one totalled at the scene of an accident after the guy lost it, hit an embankment, spun, and ended up against a bridge guardrail. Public safety volunteers directed traffic around the car, as the driver, stunned, surveyed the damage. The second was yesterday, a black one with gold wheels and graphics. These cars seem to be have a mild cult following.

'69 Camaro SS

I took a road trip last week..left Denver Wednesday and drove down to Los Alamos, NM...then on Saturday, drove down to Soccoro, NM and took US 60 over to Show Low, AZ and then down through the Salt River Canyon through Globe and on into Phoenix...beautiful scenery.

I saw quite a few interesting oldies, incl. a goregous white '68 Buick Wildcat 2dr, a light green '61 Cadillac 4dr ht, a maroon '68 Camaro SS, a couple '64-66 T-birds, and drove past a salvage yard in Soccoro, NM chock full of '50s-70s vintage cars. I saw a sharp yellow mid '60s Chevy stepside pickup here in Phoenix last night.

Beautiful drive, I've done it a couple times and might do it again in a few weeks. Can't remember the highway numbers, but I've done it a "short" way and "long" way. The short way took the main highway from central NM to CO and up to Denver. The long way took a smaller highway further west, and through lots of small towns in CO (we drove past a huge casino in the middle of the mountains).

I took I-25 down from Denver, then from Soccoro, NM I took US 60 across NM and down to Phoenix.. US 60 is a great road, very little traffic, and the terrain is fascinating (the drive from Show Low AZ to Superior, AZ through Globe is incredible...winding and twisty up and down the Salt River Canyon). The desert is in spring bloom now, very beautiful.

I stopped and took a tour of the Very Large Array radio telescope facility off US 60, it was featured in the movie 'Contact'...neat place. (NRAO VLA)

I've done the I-25 to Albuquerque and then I-40 to Flagstaff and then down I-17 to Phoenix drive 3 times in the last few years, so I was looking for something different this time.

I just saw one today too!! It had been so long, to the point I had even forgotten about them in my mental catalog. Then around lunch, coming back from getting a paper and a few other things, I decided to stop by the VW dealer up the street. Perused the GTI's, Passats, several new R32's, etc....then looked out back, and right under their "Used Wholesale" sign was a green SVX, beside a silver GMC Jimmy. They have few, if any, used cars, except for the few 1 or 2 year old ones out front, but I was intrigued.

Went back to have a look. '95 in dark green with charcoal cloth and all was there with great paint, interior, etc. and the only real wear spot I saw was some paint worn off the centercaps. No price, but looked it up online and it seems to have a little over 110k on the clock. Must have been some kind of a VW trade.

Fascinating cars with those WEIRD windows (first time actually looking at them up close), but I'd love to play with one of these just for the heck of it.

I've seen alot of S2000's lately.

Blue Smart Cabriolet, unbelievably cool.

Like a '68 Datsun 510 wagon, in maroon, for sale along the road. Dust on it made it appear to be a fresh barn find. In surprisingly good shape. Cool.
