Why can't anyone understand that the BRX and 9-4X are not true platform-mates to the Terrain and Equinox?

I like the Torrent, but I think it's what the Equinox should have been. I think this type of vehicle fits GMC better.

Looks like there's still some confusion with the Theta platform. A lot of sites still cite that the BRX and 9-4x are on Theta. I thought they were only related but the platforms were fairly different?

BRX and 9-4X are on TE (Theta-Epsilon). Basically, it is a platform that uses a mixture of Epsilon and Theta parts.

Why can't there be a disclaimer on that? I don't get why people confuse the two. The premium brands get the premium components.

Theta, Theta-Epsilon....whatever...it's all FWD and FWD/AWD, what's the substantive difference?

That they are two different platforms. :AH-HA_wink:

That is kind of a big difference. Also different drivetrains and suspension setups.

Yeah, but nobody knows yet how different they are yet..it's just the same old ingredients mixed up a different way...just GM FWD generic stuff...

Spied again?

Is this the real Terrain?

I would say so, unless they are covering up a crest and wreath, on the grill it looks like they covered just a GMC logo.

The front end does seem rather tall and vertical, I guess to be more truck-like.

is this really going to be an 09 or will the '10 my be bringing tons of new and "new" stuff?

I see that the GMC Denali XT concept has given the 2010 Terrain it's grille design:

We could have gotten a rebadged VUE: ( )

You know, I am maybe reminded somewhat of the old GMC Terracross concept car by the squared off wheel openings and the way they are flared.

It looks significantly bigger than the Equinox to me, and not a whole lot smaller than the Lambdas, but it could just be because of the camo.

How sad.

Jeep AND GMC pushing what are essentially evolutions of THESE:

What a SAD day, anyway you slice it. Damn CAFE standards suck!

maybe more like H6 or 7 the way the numbers seem to go with size. do i smell a 'Chop contest??!!! lol

Actually it seems to be the opposite seeing them in person. Maybe just a bit smaller though.

This thing appears to be small, yet butch, like yours truly. I think I might like this thing, if it is smaller than Equinox, which seems long, yet not very space efficient. The rear suspension really cuts into the load space in an Equinox, imo.

I was thinking they're similar to the Sierra's wheel openings
