April 4, 200817 yr Spied: 2009 GMC TerrainPontiac's Torrent migrates to the GMC stable.Link to original Article @ Left Lane News Images and story after the link. Edited April 17, 200817 yr by YellowJacket894
April 5, 200817 yr Author Why can't anyone understand that the BRX and 9-4X are not true platform-mates to the Terrain and Equinox?
April 5, 200817 yr I like the Torrent, but I think it's what the Equinox should have been. I think this type of vehicle fits GMC better.
April 7, 200817 yr Looks like there's still some confusion with the Theta platform. A lot of sites still cite that the BRX and 9-4x are on Theta. I thought they were only related but the platforms were fairly different?
April 8, 200817 yr Author BRX and 9-4X are on TE (Theta-Epsilon). Basically, it is a platform that uses a mixture of Epsilon and Theta parts.
April 12, 200817 yr Why can't there be a disclaimer on that? I don't get why people confuse the two. The premium brands get the premium components.
April 12, 200817 yr Theta, Theta-Epsilon....whatever...it's all FWD and FWD/AWD, what's the substantive difference?
April 12, 200817 yr Author Theta, Theta-Epsilon....whatever...it's all FWD and FWD/AWD, what's the substantive difference? That they are two different platforms. :AH-HA_wink:
April 12, 200817 yr That is kind of a big difference. Also different drivetrains and suspension setups.
April 12, 200817 yr That they are two different platforms. :AH-HA_wink: Yeah, but nobody knows yet how different they are yet..it's just the same old ingredients mixed up a different way...just GM FWD generic stuff... Edited April 12, 200817 yr by moltar
April 17, 200817 yr Spied again? Is this the real Terrain? I would say so, unless they are covering up a crest and wreath, on the grill it looks like they covered just a GMC logo. The front end does seem rather tall and vertical, I guess to be more truck-like.
April 17, 200817 yr is this really going to be an 09 or will the '10 my be bringing tons of new and "new" stuff?
April 17, 200817 yr Spied again? Is this the real Terrain? That is the real one, yes. is this really going to be an 09 or will the '10 my be bringing tons of new and "new" stuff? 2010MY.
April 18, 200817 yr I see that the GMC Denali XT concept has given the 2010 Terrain it's grille design: We could have gotten a rebadged VUE: ( )
April 18, 200817 yr Author You know, I am maybe reminded somewhat of the old GMC Terracross concept car by the squared off wheel openings and the way they are flared. Edited April 18, 200817 yr by YellowJacket894
April 18, 200817 yr It looks significantly bigger than the Equinox to me, and not a whole lot smaller than the Lambdas, but it could just be because of the camo.
April 18, 200817 yr How sad. Jeep AND GMC pushing what are essentially evolutions of THESE: What a SAD day, anyway you slice it. Damn CAFE standards suck! I mean what is next a HUMMER H-0.05 based on the Aveo!?!?
April 18, 200817 yr I mean what is next a HUMMER H-0.05 based on the Aveo!?!? maybe more like H6 or 7 the way the numbers seem to go with size. do i smell a 'Chop contest??!!! lol
April 18, 200817 yr It looks significantly bigger than the Equinox to me Actually it seems to be the opposite seeing them in person. Maybe just a bit smaller though.
April 20, 200817 yr This thing appears to be small, yet butch, like yours truly. I think I might like this thing, if it is smaller than Equinox, which seems long, yet not very space efficient. The rear suspension really cuts into the load space in an Equinox, imo.
April 21, 200817 yr You know, I am maybe reminded somewhat of the old GMC Terracross concept car by the squared off wheel openings and the way they are flared. I was thinking they're similar to the Sierra's wheel openings -RBB
