October 24, 200520 yr Notable Changes include Saab's New Tagline: 'Born From Jets', and the addition of an 'About Saab' heritage section. There's also an all-new section featuring recent Saab concepts in which it says "And as you can see, the future is looking very, very good. Photo Galleries have been updated along with other details. Oddly enough, the updated 9-5 isn't on the new site. Check it out for yourself: http://www.saabusa.com/
October 24, 200520 yr SAAB is perhaps the only company that can accurately advertise their aviation heritage. Subaru and Mistubishi do, but their modern developments aren't really significant and their historical ones are probably better left unadvertised.
October 24, 200520 yr Nice... the photography is fantastic. I wish they'd get rid of the cheesy, inconsistent title thingys on the top of the browser, though: "Luxury Car - Luxury Vehicles from Saab USA" "Saab 9-2x - Best Sport Compact Car" "Saab 9-3 Convertible Car" "Saab 9-5 is our Best Luxury Sedan" "Saab 9-7x Best Luxury SUV" Reminds me of the generic Google ads... "[Whatever you typed in] Bargain Prices. You want it, we got it!" Edited October 24, 200520 yr by empowah
October 24, 200520 yr I saw one of their new commercials recently. The had the 9-3 convertible driving along with five (Saab?) jets flying above it complete with the tagline. Pretty cool.
October 24, 200520 yr I find it interesting that at this point in time, saab cars are farther removed from saab jets than ever before, seemingly rendering the new tagline a... past-prime curiosity. IMO.

October 24, 200520 yr I think there are still some ties, not clues ones, but some with the jet company and the car company. You get a link to the car company from the jet companies website,a dn I dont think they could advertise their past unless there was some tie.
October 26, 200520 yr There hasn't been a tie since GM bought out their JV partners in 2000. Other aircraft links un-advertised : Daimler-Chrysler owns Deutche Aerospace which owns about 40% of EADS (which owns 80% of Airbus) and about 40% of Eurofighter. Deutche Aerospace is formerly known as Mescherschmidt - only changed their name about 10 years ago when Daimler took them over. BMW started as an aero-engine company and their logo is a stylised propellor
October 30, 200520 yr Yea I saw that one tonight! Very good commercial. [post="33233"]<{POST_SNAPBACK}>[/post] Yeah, I agree it was good. I thought the song (Ready, Steady, Go) was appropriate, but I didn't like the announcer's voice.
October 30, 200520 yr I dont think they could advertise their past unless there was some tie. You would think so, yet apparently that hasn't stopped daimler-Chrysler from cribbing maybach's entire history (it was on their website last time I bothered to look), and there is NO connection between the maybach that died off in '31 and the current brand, nor is there any connection between maybach of yore and mercedes of the same time period.
