 well that worked out nicely didn't it? Ok, one hit wonder, released in '84. As afr as I can tell this song only was released over seas, I have it as an import. Great Song. The band name is the guys name.

This song never made into the Top 100, which is a shame. He's british and has written a ton for other major acts.

Let's try something else to be fair. Like you did. The cover shows a stained glass window on a black background, depicting the King of Diamonds. Released in '80, progessive album. Not the band from the audio clip.

Since I can't hear it, what's the style?

It would be classic rock I suppose.

Alan Parsons

"Turn of a Friendly Card"

Somebody still needs to guess the audio clip. :AH-HA_wink:

Thanks.

He co-produced lots of Pink Floyd's stuff - major talent in the studio.

Easy for me.

I don't have time to do one tonight, so why don't you do another?

Ok, would be considered classic rock i think. A blurry shot of a "muscle car" making a corner, shot from above, with a light pole and a fire hydrant in the image.

Canadian actually, and damn good as most Canadian bands tend to be.

I need to check an idea...

Hmmm, are we googling?

No go.

Running down my list of Canadian bands I can't place this cover.

But I think I've seen it.

I think I'll have to sleep on this one!

Ok fair enough. Until tomorrow, and then I'll reveal who the audio clip was if nobody guesses. I'm off to bed. See Ya'll.

Hmmm, are we googling?

Yeah, I thought I had it and wanted to check.

I was wrong, thought it was The Guess Who.

Good guess though. I'm trying to come up with some challenging ones. But, bands I love.

My last guess of the evening is that it could be Steppenwolf since they had so many albums (and I think used alternate covers for some).

I will also say that I doubt it is :

Rush

Blue Rodeo

Neil Young

You're gonna kick yourself when you figure it out.

Yeah..sounds familiar, but I just can't place it..

Wow, another good one, but no. You guys are awesome. See all the old bands we're thinking about now.

It sounds like Red Rider

Ooh..haven't listened to those guys in ages..

So, here's one....

What artist has multiple songs about cars and driving, including one with a car name in the title and two implying laws are being broken in their title? Name the 3 songs.

EDIT: I forgot all about April Wine :duh:

HAHA, I wondered what the hell. LOL April Wine, Triumph and don't forget Saga. Everybody automatically reverts to Rush. So many great Canadian bands. Is Billy Thorpe Canadian too? Isn't that his name? The guy who did "Children of the Sun"?

This might be a bit easier. If you get the voice, it should be smooth sailing.

Audio Clip

What is the name of the band, and the album that this song is from.

Here's a couple hints:

- The guitarist used to play for the 70's English band 'City Boy' .

- The producer is very well known for his work with hair-metal acts.

Don't know it, but got it by Google. I'll let others guess.

Yup!

Children of The Sun is a great tune!

" Don't Pay The Ferry Man" is another great tune out of Canada, I can't bring the artist's name to mind at the moment.

What artist has multiple songs about cars and driving (sometimes as a subplot or reference) including one implying laws are being broken in it's title?

This should be easy...this artist's songs often reference his home state.

Now you made me go to YouTube to watch the Chris DeBurgh video. I hadn't thought about that song in a long time.

How was that a "tune out of Canada?" Chris De Burgh was from England (born in Argentina).

It sounds like Rough Trade or the Headpins, but I think I know who it is (after a quick Google).
