May 4, 200817 yr Author Replaces both the Chevrolet Vivant (Daewoo Tacuma/Rezzo) and Chevy-badged Zafiras around the world.
May 4, 200817 yr I really hope this thing isn't intended to replace the sweet little HHR. It's about as characterful as a paper bag. It seems a clone of the Mazda 5, and we all know how that turned out. Does GM think the Chevy brand has the muscle to make this concept work?
May 4, 200817 yr I really don't have a good feel for the design yet...can't comment. I mean in theory I like the idea, but I'd have to see more of it (like a front bumper) before I can give an opinion.
May 4, 200817 yr Author The Mazda5 is selling well now that gas prices have risen, and the Mazda5 is a clone of GM's Zafira, the most popular 7-seat compact MPV around. And no it is not an HHR replacement. The HHR will probably be replaced by one of the 5-seat Gamma SUVs, not this 7-seat Delta MPV.
May 4, 200817 yr No, this won't replace the HHR... There was thread about this a while back... between the Chrome handles and Headlamps, it didn't look too Chevy, and it has Roewe Wheels.
May 5, 200817 yr This actually is not a Chevrolet Prototype. It's a Roewe/MG prototype I think using GM's grounds for testing. The wheels are actually from a current Roewe production model. http://www.chinacartimes.com/2008/05/03/roewe-mpv-mg-mpv/ http://www.worldcarfans.com/9080430.016/new-roewe-mpv-spied Edited May 5, 200817 yr by Peugeot_206

If it was coming out of GM's Chinese proving grounds (a joint facility with SAIC), it would be another matter. Also, SAIC is far more likely to develop and sell an MPV under Ssangyong than either MG or Roewe—20 new Ssangyong models are planned by 2014 at a cost of several billion dollars (a figure no other Chinese company can come close to).
