May 29, 200817 yr Well, I got a few projects, but I just noticed the new Project Car forum and thought I would toss mine in.... Just bought it today...... freshly rebuilt engine and transmission, it has sat in a garage since 1991.....
May 29, 200817 yr Sick. That's a tight whip! MOre photos please! Edited May 29, 200817 yr by Sixty8panther
May 30, 200817 yr Author Interior pics from today, I think it's obviously a good thing this car sat in a closed garage for the last 17 years, the interior isn't that bad to be honest, needs some work, but I have work galore already.... LOL
May 30, 200817 yr More round holes in the dash than a G-body Grand Prix. Love it... let's see that Mopar block... 440 cu. in. right?
May 30, 200817 yr Author 440 HP engine, steel crank and all.... The engine is completely rebuilt and the tranny too, but it has to come out down the road and get some serious detailing, it wasn't done for looks... hahaha I already got it running...
July 29, 200817 yr Cool...I love old British cars... back in Ohio, near my Mom's place is a white '60s Cortina...it's been sitting outside a garage in this small Ohio town for at least 15 years...would love to have the time and place to tinker with it.
July 30, 200817 yr Very cool. Almost like the grandfather of the Porsche 928.... (who's designer, BTW: credited the AMC Pacer for the rear end!) Now that is a hybrid I'd love to own!
July 30, 200817 yr Now another question: wht the heck is that '39/'40-ish pre-war car facing it in the interior shot?
August 18, 200817 yr Author Now another question: wht the heck is that '39/'40-ish pre-war car facing it in the interior shot? It's a Coupe I've had since the early 80's. Here ya go Sixty8panther, this Jensen isn't waht my buddies call "bland". They all call it UGLY.
August 18, 200817 yr hahahah... how could I forget about your crazy UK-USA hybrid? No matter if people call it ugly it's SOMETHING other than boring. While I wouldn't call it gorgeous in terms of styling it's def. cool as hell considering its' rarity, powerplant & near-exotic status in the weird/independant category....
August 19, 200817 yr 1940s design, pre-war coupe, a REAL coupe: CHECK ./ Fat fenders: CHECK ./ Big-cube, honkin', built up Vee-eight under the hood: CHECK ./ Chromed/stainless/billett go-fast bolt ons: CHECK ./ Deeeeeeeeee-eeeee-eeeeep dish rears shod in M/Ts: CHECK ./ Can you guys excuse me for a sec... I need a cold shower. This kind of thread is why C&G is my home on the 'net despite all the threads about modern $h!boxes that raise my blood pressure & piss me off.
August 19, 200817 yr Awww I like that. What in the hell is it? And what is under the hood? I'm guessing, based on the photo of a Pre-war car nose sticking out of the garage eariler in this thread, and what definately looks to be '39-'40 Mopar fenders & greenhouse, that this is the same car, which would make it a 1939 Dodge coupe (no idea of series etc...) As far as the motor, based on the limited info in the pic... halibrand injection does not really give any hints, same for valve covers etc... that there's a Mopar wedge motor under that butterfly hood... 440? (based on distributor)
August 21, 200817 yr Author Awww I like that. What in the hell is it? And what is under the hood? It's a 1940 Plymouth Coupe. I've had it since I was a youngin, it used to be 440 powered....... I picked up my now wife in high school in the car.. but it looked like this.... "little" N50-15s... LOL I've gone with a 484ci engine with EFI this time, I've never built anything with EFI before so this is all new to me. Accel genVII with a dual sync distributor and a wideband. Sounded like jibberish when I first started buying stuff. LOL It's got Wilwoods all four corners, never had brakes that worked before! :AH-HA_wink: hahaha The cage was good until 7.50 when it was built, but now it's good until 8.50 because of rule changes. It won't go that fast anyways. Barton built the engine, John Cope did the tranny, I built almost all the rest, even the A arms, headers, exhaust, dash, fuel cell, etc etc etc They are Pro Trac 515s on the rear for the street, I have slicks on spare rims for seeing what I can break at the track... Under construction photos only.... sorry! I have a little bit left to get it running, these pics are taken a couple of years ago, I still have to get it running and strip it completely down one more time for paint.... Before I get old I hope.... lol Edited August 21, 200817 yr by CMG

September 4, 200817 yr wow.... must have been tired or sleep deprived, hilborn, of course. You Sir, are a true car enthusiast!
August 18, 201114 yr Author Well this is an old thread! lol The Jensen has been my daily driver for a couple of years now, I redid the brakes, suspension, pulled the engine apart and redid it, then insured it and drove the pants off it. Pulls hard, drives nice, I am truly impressed.
August 18, 201114 yr Author This was the actual first trip around the block! lol The exhaust has since been changed, it's now 4 mufflers, still a little loud but livable..... Jensen blip the throttle
August 19, 201114 yr Awesome to drive such a classic as a daily! Glad you are back to posting again! You should add your cars to the C&G Garage!
August 19, 201114 yr Author I still love that Jensen. And, I'm glad to see you posting here again! I still love your Ute sig!! How are ya Camino? Cool Vette thread!!

Added a couple pics of the Jensen... not sure where the Garage is though! lol I moved, which was a huge process, and now I actually have a place to work on cars!!! I picked up another "weirdo" Dodge too.. I'll have to post pics... It's almost on the road but it's not a "desirable MoPar". Still fun! How is everybody??! Edited August 19, 201114 yr by CMG
August 19, 201114 yr Author My daughter is a bit of a "chip off the old block", she is a car nut too. Always has been.... When she was about to head off to her grad dance she asked.... and I couldn't say no...
