October 25, 200520 yr The system solves all of the obstacles associated with the manufacturing, transporting and storing of hydrogen to be used in cars. When it becomes commercial in a few years time, the system will be incorporated into cars that will cost about the same as existing conventional cars to run, and will be completely emission free. If this is for real then we're dealing wiht a revolution here folks. As President Bush urges Americans to cut back on the use of oil in wake of the recent surge in prices, more and more people are looking for more viable alternatives to the use of petroleum as the main fuel for the automotive industry. October 25, 200520 yr This is yet another (more space efficient) method of ENERGY STORAGE. These cars are NOT making their own fuel, that is a PILE OF BS. Energy storage is great, and it means that we can run cars off the much cleaner-to-produce power taken from the typical hydro grid. However, we are not yet ready to do this. Transportation accounts for about 50% of our energy uses in North America - meaning if everyone plugged in their car, the grid would have to pump out 2x as much power. That's a lot of power plants to be built!
October 25, 200520 yr Great idea although a little primative it would take less energy to break off hydrogen from oxygen in distilled water. In fact you could make a hydrogen system that recycles HYdrogen. H2O=>2H,0=>fuel cell=>H20. The only thing that you would have to do is to change your water to keep it electron rich. Or you can use static electricity produced by the friction created by the motion of the wheels to recharge the water. I got a little technical there sorry but, it is the future.
October 27, 200520 yr Cool. how about installing shag carpeting and having your passangers rub theri feet in the footwell briskly till their hir stands on end... that produces static electricity too. :P
