June 4, 200817 yr Interesting rendering of the forthcoming Astra VXR mark 6, along with story: http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/news/autoexpr...-astra-vxr.html
June 4, 200817 yr That car looks like influenced by old Chevy styling and Seat. A little bit ho-hum. It looks typical Vauxhall/Opel to me. The styling strongly echoes that of the smaller Corsa.
June 4, 200817 yr I was expecting the 260hp DI 2.0 litre engine... GME have already indicated that the sixth-gen Astra will concentrate on a variety of smaller, more fuel-efficient engines as opposed to more sporting, powerful powerplants.
June 4, 200817 yr I think that rendering pretty crude . Current gen corsa greenhouse stretched at bit , oddly chopped current gen Astra rear fenders and Insignia headlights and grillwork and current VXr 19" wheels . I wouldnt be putting to much faith into any details of that pic .
June 4, 200817 yr It looks typical Vauxhall/Opel to me. The styling strongly echoes that of the smaller Corsa. May be it is in line with Corsa. However that little thing stands out. This Astra is a little bit more mediocre. The grill looks like those old Chevy Optras.

The Optra isn't really a Chevrolet, and the grille shape and headlights on the Astra pictured resembles the larger Insignia - clearly part of a new family look. I don't see the Optra resemblance, sorry.

Given that this illustration comes from Auto Bild & Auto Express, I'd put plenty of faith in it. Just as one example, their rendering of the Insignia (back then assumed to be called the new Vectra) from April 2007 was pretty accurate: And from November 2007: Back to their Astra mk 6 renderings: Edited June 4, 200817 yr by aatbloke
