June 10, 200817 yr Assimilation, schmassimilation. If all of GM operated like Holden we wouldn't be in this mess. Holden Again Revisits the Torana
June 10, 200817 yr A senior executive from Holden's parent company General Motors recently revealed that a petrol-electric Commodore hybrid was set for 2010.
June 10, 200817 yr I mean regarding the Torana. I know. That bit about a zeta hybrid jumped out at me. Haven't we been told that zetas are getting canceled due to fuel economy concerns?
June 10, 200817 yr Well if there's a Torana, hopefully that means there will be a RWD G6 coupe and sedan next time around. This rumor of a rebadged next-gen Malibu as the next-gen G6 is plain STUPID.
June 11, 200817 yr Hmmm... Working on preserving the Commodore through innovation all the while introducing an attractive Alpha. If only GMNA and GME weren't too dumb to see the relevance in this. LPG and ethanol! I'm moving to aussie land! "And if you want to look to the future with ethanol and the unleveraging of foreign oil in this country, those technologies become much more compelling in this market than diesel does." FINALLY, someone at GM with some brains! Why isn't Reuss running the company again?

June 11, 200817 yr The Torana is a brilliant concept that should already be in production and on sale globally.
June 14, 200817 yr I'd love to see it happen. But is there room at Elizabeth? From what I understand, there isn't, so either a new line would have to be built (do they even have room?) or exisiting production capacity for the Commodore would be cut.
