MCR is an idea that I’ve had for quite a while. With the prices of muscle cars getting way out of hand, it’s time to give those rotting cars another look. A very serious look, and perhaps a second chance at life.

Yes, it’s possible to buy a car after it’s been restored, but one of the costs that is passed on with these cars is a very unfair market markup, I mean, price.

Have you watched some of the muscle car auctions? Watched these big ‘kids’ with way too much allowance fight over a car? The result of these two children and their sandbox moment is another car that should cost $40,000 now costs $180,000. Or more.

Hey, they can afford it, and good for them, but the trickle down effect is far worse than you expect. That 69’ Camaro sitting in Grandpa Joe’s barn, and has been rotting there since 1981 is now worth $10,000 as it sits. Well, it’s worth that to Grandpa, because he watched the same auction, and it’s time for he and Mabel to cash that f-body in and move to Del Boca Vista Phase III. I call 1-800-BUL-SH1T !

He's thinking of putting together a parody of the most recent ASPCA commercial, substituting rotting muscle cars for animals. Will post it here if he follows through.

If I had the time and space, I'd love to tackle my late father's rusty, bondoed '67 Cougar that's been parked in my family's Ohio barn..hasn't been driven or started for about 25 years. Sitting under a car cover w/ 4 flat tires.

This is a fantastic concept, but why just stop at muscle cars? Seems like everything with steel bumpers is now a RARE CLASSIC ANTIQUE and THEY DON'T MAKE 'EM LIKE THAT ANYMORE and THERE AIN'T MANY LEFT AROUND and is worth five grand. Eleven if it runs. I think your bro needs a spinoff site for things that aren't classified as "muscle cars."

He's really into muscle cars - he's having an expert restore a '78 TA right now. I'm sure if this idea takes off, it could be expanded to other types of cars.
