June 18, 200817 yr Typical. This is why the rest of the world thinks we're a bunch of retards who have trouble discerning France and Russia on a four-color map.

June 18, 200817 yr Want to have some fun? Go to a big American city and randomly ask someone to name one European country. Some of the answers will surprise you, maybe even horrify you.
June 18, 200817 yr Want to have some fun? Go to a big American city and randomly ask someone to name one European country. Some of the answers will surprise you, maybe even horrify you. There are probably people that think Europe is a country.
June 18, 200817 yr There are probably people that think Europe is a country. Perhaps those certain people are fortune-tellers and they don't even know it. :AH-HA_wink:
June 18, 200817 yr Semi-related - there's a sad number of new Saturn Astra owners that are getting all snobby about how their car is built in Germany. When people point out that the plant is in Belgium, which is not Germany, they try to play it off as the same thing. I'm sure people from either country would really appreciate being told they're the same.
June 18, 200817 yr I met someone who thought Canada was part of Australia. But I think that's a one-off.
June 18, 200817 yr I like when people get all snobbish about cars and say they'll only buy something German..... like a Saab.
June 18, 200817 yr There are probably people that think Europe is a country. Actually, yes. Students in 8th grade. They also said Canada was a state. :AH-HA_wink:
