June 20, 200817 yr Seriously this may be the best looking compact ever! http://feeds.autoblog.com/~r/weblogsinc/au...g/~3/315800294/ Edited June 20, 200817 yr by 91z4me
June 20, 200817 yr I love the 8C and I think Alfas designs range from gorgeous to hideous. This little guy has a kind of "Pokemon getting a rectal exam without warning" look to him. Lookit how shocked he looks, or maybe someone just told him that Santa Claus is not real.
June 20, 200817 yr I love Alfa Romeos and this is no exception. It is a small car I actually would not mind to own as a daily runabout. I hope this Alfa and the others are really coming to America. Affordable well-designed Italian cars are one thing I would like to see return to America.
June 20, 200817 yr it is very cool, and there's the beautiful 8c. I love them both, equally and for different reasons.
June 20, 200817 yr 8c is sold for ~200k, very limited volumes have been completely picked up across the world, well as far as the last time I read. it's definitely a car you want to pull up in, and something very different from the ferraris and lambos of the world, more cool and subtle like an aston while still being extravagant of course, you pay that much for something!
June 20, 200817 yr This little Dustbuster on wheels is no more inspired by the 8C than the Chevy Vega was inspired by the '1970 Camaro RS/SS.
June 20, 200817 yr There was another recent Alfa that looked great to me (at least from the front). Can't remember its name...
June 20, 200817 yr I like it...I've long liked Alfa's grille, it's distinctive, has character, esp. today when everything has a trapazoidal grille...I also like how they put the number plate off to the side, rather in the center which is so boring and predictable today. I esp. like the current Brera and 166 styling...
June 20, 200817 yr There was another recent Alfa that looked great to me (at least from the front). Can't remember its name... The Brera/Spider/166? Edited June 20, 200817 yr by YellowJacket894
June 20, 200817 yr The Brera/Spider/166? That's the one. I like the front quite a bit, the rest not so much.
June 20, 200817 yr I think 68's pokemon description fits the subcompact perfectly. It's not ugly, but it's no prize winner, either. Huge schnozz; the frt wheels are under the windshield! 3/4ths of the price of an exotic is it's image, whereas the 8c has none to project. IMO.
June 20, 200817 yr You cover the grille/headligthts of the above AR and that sedan could be a-n-y-t-h-i-n-g. I wish to hell designers would put a little effort into the sides & greenhouses of cars. Take the 'floating rod' off the sides and this lil gem truely is a unique compact, and this one was penned in '91. I'd drive one, and I hate tiny cars. Edited June 20, 200817 yr by balthazar
June 20, 200817 yr Too bad that the Brera lost that cool hood cutline it had as a concept. That detail really set the car apart.
June 20, 200817 yr The Mito is only an indirect Mini competitor. It's much bigger, even more than the Mini Clubman, and is closely related to the new Opel Corsa and Fiat Grand Punto. Opel's next Astra looks much like a 5-door Brera.
June 20, 200817 yr Opel's next Astra looks much like a 5-door Brera. It's good to read that! Will there be a new GTC as well?
June 20, 200817 yr Let's hope the interior of the next Astra doesn't like the Brera! Hopefully it'll be a big improvement over the current Astra's interior facia as well.
June 20, 200817 yr It really uis a beautiful car, but the front end needs some work...it really does look bug-eyed. If they tweak it to look more like the 8C then it'll be perfect.
June 21, 200817 yr I think it's a cool looking small car. I think all of Alfa's product portfolio has a cool, alternative look and appeal. It is a refreshing change from the appliance-like look of Toyota and Honda products.
June 23, 200817 yr The 159? I absolutely love the 159. I wish Alfa would hurry up and either get to the States, or stay away and quit saying that they will be back; 8C excepted since it was so limited. The MiTo needs a better name, and tweaked styling. One simply can't adapt supercar styling to a dinky hatch.
July 14, 200817 yr Well the front nose piece looks like ....well... an Italian's big nose! Certainly not my Italian nose but perhaps one of my cousins.
