A Malibu wagon please.

1. Don't try to go the Dodge route and load it up with testosterone, just a wagon of the existing car please.

2. Make the 4cylinder/6speed option available

You already have a great interior, something the Magnum never had.

You'd be the only one on the market except the Mazda 6 and that one is going away.

You'd have a great stepping down point from the larger CUVs and SUVs for families that finally realize they don't need so much car.

You could tout it being cooler than a mini-van, more efficient than an SUV/CUV and able to haul just about as much stuff.

I'm all for the idea. They're making a CTS wagon, why not a Malibu? The 9-3 has the Sport-Combi, so there is precident for an Epsilon wagon.

Yes, not to mention the Vectra has a wagon version, and presumably the Insignia will also...

I suggested the same thing a couple of days ago on another thread. It is a good idea. I would prefer they call it nomad and give it a few nostalgia hints but am not married to that idea.

I'll jump on this bandwagon as well. With fuel economy concerns, wagons are again the most economical way to carry alot of stuff. If done right, I think it would be a looker too.

to be fair, Mazda doesn't have the dealer network or visibility of Chevy. If you had said the Ford Fusion wagon failed I'd see your point.... but if you want to buy a Japanese wagon are you really going to go to Mazda over Subaru?

my point was that mazda replaced the wagon with the cx-7 and cx-9 cause the wagon wasn't selling well. and canada is more favorable to wagons than the usa.

the maxx didn't light up the sales charts either, even though it was probably a better buy than the base malibu.

Yeah, the Mazda6 went from offering a 4dr sedan, 5dr hatch and wagon in the US to just a 4dr sedan for the new model. Pretty lame, but that's the way it is currently...Americans seem to have an aversion to hatchbacks and wagons, though they are lighter, more efficient, and more drivable than CUVs.... Personally, if I had to drive a FWD compact or midsize, I'd rather have a hatchback or wagon over a sedan anyday..just more useful than a tiny trunk.

Probably, I see no need to have AWD killing my fuel economy.

It would be a great idea...on both accounts. An efficient, classy, refined as could be wagon with 2 great engines, more versatility, and a pricetag people would like. So many people are going smaller is better now, and even considering things they'd NEVER think of before, it would certainly have a chance.
