Million Mile Camaro

Featured Replies

The condition of that car for that amount of miles astonishes me.

Solider on, brave Camaro, solider on.

Wow..that is too cool.

I am at complete and utter amazement. Take that beige '67 VW KdF.

Sweet story, sweet car.

gorgeous car.... i wonder what kinda grooves the rings wear into the block after a million miles? if the motor hasnt been rebuilt, the rings cant make a tight seal, right?

The late 60's and early 70's small blocks were some very stout engines along with the THM 350 and 400 automatic trannys. I have seen many 500K-700K Impalas, Biscaynes and pickups reported over the years. My great uncle has a 1983 Park Ave with the Olds 307 with 310K on the original engine with the only things needing attention being the timing chain, intake and valve cover gaskets. The engine still runs good and doesn't smoke. Those early 5A head 307's were very reliable engines too. I think there is an 80's Toro with 500K in the guinness book of world records.
