July 20, 200817 yr you sure could buy a lot of petrol for £13K to £15K. do they have a tax or fee for "high" g/km CO2? 12 - 5 mpg difference is very surprising. what's the difference in weight? the gearing changes for a 2.8L DI would certainly help... but not by much.

Road fund licence (similar to annual registration in the States) is based on a car's CO2 emissions in the UK. Cars emitting over 225g/km of CO2 attract the highest rate. Likewise, company car tax - which many CTS's will likely become subject to for potential drivers - is also tiered based on CO2 emissions. Quoted MPG is in imperial gallons which are larger than US gallons.
