July 21, 200817 yr http://www.leftlanenews.com/cadillac-limo.html I imagine I'll be in Gitmo by the end of the day...
July 21, 200817 yr Obama's fly new ride. Whatever makes you happy, . McCain would be happy with the latest Packard. :rotflmao:
July 21, 200817 yr McCain would be happy with the latest Packard. :rotflmao: Really? He seemed fairly impressed with that new fangled Stanley Steamer.
July 21, 200817 yr I'm surprised Bush didn't upgrade to a Hummer based limo a few years back..would have been appropriate for the 'War President', and put sponsor decals on it like a NASCAR--decals for Halliburton, Blackwater, Exxon, etc. . Edited July 21, 200817 yr by moltar
July 21, 200817 yr OK can we just cut all bull$h! and get back to the car. OK: It's fugly!!! Couldn't they make something functional yet elegant for a President's limo? Presidents deserve style too
July 21, 200817 yr OK: It's fugly!!! Couldn't they make something functional yet elegant for a President's limo? Presidents deserve style too Some do anyway.
July 21, 200817 yr They slapped an Escalade front and the tired STS rear on it? This thing is pathetic.
July 21, 200817 yr OK: It's fugly!!! Couldn't they make something functional yet elegant for a President's limo? Presidents deserve style too Agreed. If I was stuck with that job, I'd want an armored version of the Sixteen.
July 21, 200817 yr Still ugly. Why do they bother trying to make it look like a Cadillac? Exactly, the damn A-pillar is as thick as a medium sugar maple tree. Just throw the armor on a H2, it will look less awkward. Better yet just give him a freekin APC with an Escalade grille, a 5-foot wide Cadillac-style LED CHiMSL, 22 inch rims & call it a day! The story of how Lincoln got the Whit House contract for a few decades by default as a result of the Truman Dewey debacle is an interesting one. I, for one, am happy the commander in Chielf has a Caddy, not some tarted up Fordproduct... if only on paper.
July 21, 200817 yr Agreed. If I was stuck with that job, I'd want an armored version of the Sixteen. F*** yeah! ....but still a true pillarless hardtop. Now that would be funny... seeing interlocking glass that's 5" thick and designed to gell & catch armored piercing rounds and yet its got to also seal in terms of weather sealing & also dropp down into the doors! Hell yesh!
July 22, 200817 yr Say what you will 68 but I still think this would make a bitchin' Presidential Limo In fact I'd buy one too because I'm in love with the looks of the 1961-64 Continental (it's my favorite design) and would kill for anything styled to evoke it. Unfortunately all I get to satisfy me is the front end of the MKX Crossover ()
July 22, 200817 yr Author Did any of you notice that that limo has a trailer hitch? It's common to see hitches on test cars.
July 22, 200817 yr Oh the '61-64 Continentals are among my favorite FoMoCo cars and def. my favorite post-WWII Lincolns. That concept was just a little too soft but still very nice overall, too bad Lincoln will never actually build anyhing worth buying. The Town Car, even last year was still a relevant and nice product but it should have cost about $12,000 less than what Ford was tryting to get for them.... for krissake the damn car has barelly had an update in 10+ years and the chassis makes the W-body look "new-ish" by comparison, which is scary. If someone, Ford OR GM made the investment to design a BOF car ground up with todays technology as far as hydroforming, crumple zones, side impact & rollover protection they could REALLY have something special. Now that gas is $4/gallon even that 1.5% chance that GM would bring back the B-body is dead.
August 10, 200817 yr So is this the new DTS/DT7 same way how were previewed the '06 DTS in early '05 when Bush road in it.
January 21, 200917 yr i have to say, seeing the car on TV today it looked great. It was very substantial and had a nice wide stance to it. It looked like a truck disguised as a car, exactly what it is, which I think is cool.
