August 13, 200817 yr Hi, I'm a reporter from the Washington Post working on a story about how GM is trying to learn to court younger buyers using the Chevy Cobalt. If you're under 30 and own a Cobalt, or know somebody that age who does, I'd really like a chance to chat with you. My e-mail is: [email protected]
August 13, 200817 yr What's up? I own a 2006 Cobalt SS Supercharged and I'm 20. My parents just bought my 17 y.o. sister a 2008 G5 too.
August 13, 200817 yr I own a 2006 Cobalt..... I think the cheaper price (with rebates) with a car that gets good gas milage will help the Balt sell well until the Cruze hits the showrooms.....
August 13, 200817 yr this is an interesting approch... cant wait to see how this works out... I'd agree, that almost all the 'new' cobalts i sold were to people under 30, used was a different subject.
August 13, 200817 yr Three people I work with have them: 21 year old guy - yellow LT coupe 22 year old guy - silver LS coupe 18 year old girl - blue LS sedan They love them. They all bought them within 9 months of each other. The 21 year old bought his, raved about it, the 22 year old bought his, raved about it, and the 18 year old girl bought hers. I'd consider a Cobalt after college, although by that time it might be the Cruze. I'd get a red LT coupe right now if I could.
August 13, 200817 yr I dunno, a lot of the Cobalts I have sold have been to 'oldsters.' At $5.00 a gallon, it is a good 'downsize' vehicle for people getting out of their LeSabres and 88s. I'd say the numbers are about 50-50: half the Cobalts I've sold are to those under 25 and the other half to those over 25.
August 13, 200817 yr I've owned a Cobalt since June '05. I turned 30 two weeks ago. You are screwing up the demographics! You're now 2 weeks OVER 30. Now go collect your Social Security check Gramps. :AH-HA_wink: Edited August 13, 200817 yr by Pontiac Custom-S
August 13, 200817 yr I like the mix of angles on the Cobalt in this thread: -reporter -Cobalt owners -Cobalt sales at the dealership -And a GM employee ( if he chooses to respond in a serious fashion) Could be a pretty good overall perspective on the car.

Ahem, GME employee, well at least until September 1st. :AH-HA_wink:
August 14, 200817 yr This is going to be a toughie, since you have to be 25 and have a valid credit card to rent a car.
August 14, 200817 yr This is going to be a toughie, since you have to be 25 and have a valid credit card to rent a car. I know in NY it's 18, but you have to pay an extra $50/day.
August 14, 200817 yr I know in NY it's 18, but you have to pay an extra $50/day. I think most agencies will rent 18+ with an extra fee, but dont tell anyone, it makes my previous post less funny.
August 15, 200817 yr So have any who answered here actually E-mailed the man yet? Would be nice to see some C&Gers written about in a major newspaper. Attract some new posters too.
