I guess it depends on how compact is defined, in Buick terms. I personally see Buick compacts larger. The exercise was to use exisiting models to offer creative, design and styling inspirations for new Buick compacts. Everyone has a different image of what they think this compact should be, many say Buick doesn't listen enough to their potential buyers. I was simply offering a creative outlet to provide input on the direction Buick enthusiasts think they should take, in a fashion that is simple for the most creatively challenged enthusiast — existing vehicles. Don't be afraid to use your imagination.

Someone wanna tell me why this thread is "Compact car" but 2 of the current 4 photos are CUVs?

No idea...I don't see any correlation between a Peugeot concept, Infiniti wagon, or a Mazda CUV and Buick...though the Mazda does resemble a mini-Enclave in profile, somewhat.

Maybe this is a place to post random things while intoxicated :P

What I think he's suggesting is that Buick start copying styling cues from other automakers instead of forging their own path.

That Peugeot is disgusting! :puke:

The gross front overhang makes an '89 Dodge Dynasty look attractive.

The Mazda is quite bland stylistically, but clean & unoffensive, and the

Infiniti EX35, like many Infiniti products from the past few years, is

very attractive and would be a serious contender for my money if I was

in the mood for a "modern crossover" (which I'm NOT)

Next time, you might want to explain the topic in your initial post (as you did above) to prevent confusion... :)

The only one I agree with here is the Infiniti EX35. It could be rebadged and sold as a Buick tomorrow AFAIC.

Sorry. It is just fun to sometimes sit back and watch where it goes. Enjoying the chat.

No apologies needed... I was just confused by the original post myself. :)

A Buick compact car can come in numerous forms; a compact CUV, a compact wagon, a compact sedan, a compact coupe, a compact roadster or, what seems very popular with luxury makers now, some amalgamation of those. Think back to those drawings that appeared in the background of one of the Invicta design videos, smaller with niche purpose or attitude.
