August 29, 200817 yr Well of course California uses more fuel than anyone else! The Ports of Long Beach and Los Angeles are the busiest port system in the world, and what powers ships? Diesel. Trucks are necessary to ship goods to and from the ports, and what do they use? Diesel. Based on the blog post, I cannot tell if LAX and its jet fuel factors into the equation or not, but regardless CA already has more freeways, busier ports, and more truck traffic than anywhere else in the world.
