I believe the XLR is not going to be restyled any time soon, but what would be your take on the styling direction? Angular, as in an evolution of the Evoq-like styling, or a smoother Sixteen-like approach?

I just saw one the other day driving by me on the street...has such 'FU' presense on the street....I still like the angularity of it...stands out from many soft, rounded designs that is still in vogue.

you know i prefer the crisp creases in the cadillacs... and the smoother lines in the corvette, it sets them apart. just like the crease in an ironed pair of pants and a button up shirt, over a pair of jeans and t-shirt... if I had the money I'd prefer a XLR with a LS2, but I'm pretty sure thats not an option... its either a Northstar or Supercharged Northstar...

Angular Styling is what I've always loved about Cadillacs. It sets them apart from foreign competition and other GM brands. Of course, if I had it my way, the 59' tailfins would be on every model. I cried when the Hearses went to front wheel drive btw.

I am somewhat on the fence about the styling of the XLR, primarily because I saw many pics of the Evoq. I did a walk-around of a black job at a dealer last week. It does look menacing, but one thing I really liked on the Evoq vs. the XLR was the longer hood & the peaked decklid.

There was a clay concept pic online a few years ago that was really awesome IMO- a rounded front end with the Cadillac eggcrate cut into it. I'll have to dig it out & host it...

ULC inspiration?

It looks like an early version of the Imaj concept car front end to me. A lot of the same styling charicteristics, expressed in a different way.

I'm still waiting for a Kappa Caddy. There needs to be a cheaper coupe/convertible/roadster under the XLR.

I like the XLR as-is... it looks better than the SL, IMO. I hope the next generation XLR will be even more outrageous... or maybe leave that to a CLR?

you probably wont see a new XLR atleast until 2010.. they will probably give it a facelift maybe for 2008 or 2009.

Oh.. you know I prefer the angular A&S styling over anything. Watered-down and rounded Cadillacs are bad for you... Really bad... just like rice.

Who said it is abandoning it? I would say it is evolving it, like BMW did with the previous generation of its models, specifically the 3 series.

I don't see anything evolving... All the original A&S Caddies look never than the ones preceding them. They took a step back. They went from futuristic, edgy, and stealthy to "I love the 90's", bland, and blobby. If that's evolving... please kill me now and save me the pain of seeing anymore evolution.
