September 7, 200817 yr Has anyone ever played around with Microsoft Train Simulator? http://www.railserve.com/jump/jump.cgi?ID=5134
September 7, 200817 yr Never tried it..I wonder if it like MS Flight Simulator but with trains. I've used Flight Simulator years ago...it was a lot of fun. I wonder if you can do anything out of the norm like derailments, hitting vehicles at crossings, etc..
September 7, 200817 yr Author I had never heard of it before, stumbled upon it. It looks kind of like a model railroad on one's pc. It appears you can insert buildings, different trains, situaltions etc. And maybe cars?!! I'm going to investigate more, it could be fun.

September 7, 200817 yr I've had mine for a few years now, you can download new skins and locomotives. There is a new one coming out for 2009 that has been 3 years in the making. From what I hear is that the took actual pics of the routes to make them as realistic as possible, As with flight simulator. Ive been a fan of the railroad since I can remember so this game is like a dream come true.

September 7, 200817 yr I have it and have a great time with it.... especially with the computer hooked up to the surround sound.

I also have a thing for buses, I wonder if there will ever be a Microsoft Bus Simulator.
September 7, 200817 yr Before you buy a copy, you might want to read up & compare it with the Trainz offerings from Auran. I haven't kept up with either product, but a few years back it seemed like Trainz was the superior software. Can't tell you which is better now, but something to look into. http://www.auran.com/
September 7, 200817 yr Author Thanks for all the input, definitely going to check this out, it sounds like so much fun!
September 7, 200817 yr i think Xplay reviewed it... but as a game reviewing show they said it became mundane way too quickly. same with "boat sim" at least with flight sim you have alot more freedom with the game.
