October 1, 200817 yr In the AL we've got: Tampa Bay Rays (97-65) vs. Chicago White Sox (89-74) and Los Angles Angels of Anaheim (100-61) vs. Boston Red Sox (95-67) In the NL: Chicago Cubs (97-64) vs. Los Angeles Dodgers (84-78) and Philadelphia Phillies (92-70) vs. Milwaukee Brewers (90-72) My picks (because I've been so good at this  ) are Rays over Sox, Angels over Sox, Cubs over Dodgers, Phillies over Brewers. Then the Rays over the Angels, Cubs over Phillies, then Cubs over Rays. What can I say, I'm a homer. Also, I'm thrilled beyond belief to see no New York teams in the playoffs, if only the Bo Sox has slipped out of the picture, that would have been perfect. Discuss.
October 1, 200817 yr As long as somebody, anybody knocks off the Sawx I'll be fine with whoever wins.
October 1, 200817 yr f-cking TWINS can't score a Fking run when their number five starter only gives up ONE RUN
October 1, 200817 yr Here go my picks, and I'm elated not to have to predict a game that contains any team from New York... ALDS: TB over CHW, BOS over LAA NLDS: MIL over PHI, CHC over LAD ALCS: BOS over TB in 6 NLCS: CHC over MIL in 5 WS: BOS over CHC in 7
October 1, 200817 yr Chitown and LaLaLand ... co-baseball capitals of the world, apparently. Too bad the 2 Chicago teams didn't play the 2 LA teams at the same time in the first round! I called my cousin in the LA area...she said that she can't wait for the playoffs to begin. She is a HUGE Dodgers fan. No, we didn't make any friendly wagers.... Cort | 35swm | "Mr Monte Carlo"."Mr Road Trip" | pig valve.pacemaker WRMNshowcase.legos.HO.models.MCs.RTs.CHD = http://www.chevyasylum.com/cort "The Cubs are in" ... Steve Goodman ... 'GO CUBS GO'
October 2, 200817 yr I'm just hoping the Dodgers win more then two games... Top of the 8th... 5-2 Dodgers... DeWitt on 3rd, no outs... Holding my breath!
October 2, 200817 yr I'd like to say Cubs...but I can't. I'll go Phillies over the Angels..... First one I've heard pick those two teams. Anywhere.
October 3, 200817 yr Um lets say Rays over Cubs in the WS. I think you'll be wrong.... I'm just hoping the Dodgers win more then two games... No worries there. They've won 2 (or, as of this writing, on their way to win 2)...and are heading home.
October 3, 200817 yr Every year, every series, every sport even, I pick someone wrong, it seems. The CHC-LAD is still possible to go how I picked it, but it's not looking good for the home team.
October 5, 200817 yr Author I'm starting to effin hate Joe Torre and Manny Ramirez. Although the Cubs not being able to pitch or hit doesn't help.
October 5, 200817 yr I'm starting to effin hate Joe Torre and Manny Ramirez. Although the Cubs not being able to pitch or hit doesn't help. The Cubs weren't able to pitch (game 1), field (game 2) or hit (all three games).
October 5, 200817 yr The Cubs weren't able to pitch (game 1), field (game 2) or hit (all three games). Usually every year something weird happens that reinforces the belief that the Cubs are "cursed." Not this year. We'll just call them the "Choke-ago" Cubs after this series.
October 5, 200817 yr Author I told a friend of mine that the Cubs have decided to do it Cardinal-style and wait until the playoffs to choke.
October 6, 200817 yr Usually every year something weird happens that reinforces the belief that the Cubs are "cursed." Not this year. We'll just call them the "Choke-ago" Cubs after this series. Actually, I wouldn't even call it a choke...that's too nice. See this article: http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/columns/sto...mp;sportCat=mlb *sighs* I wrote up a "rant" of sorts...may post it next time I'm online here...we'll see . October 6, 200817 yr ... See this article: http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/columns/sto...mp;sportCat=mlb ... The Cubs were outscored 20-6. They might as well have been waving rhythmic gymnastics ribbons at the plate. :rotflmao: Edited October 6, 200817 yr by AAS
October 13, 200817 yr Author Damn Cubs Anyways, the more I see the Rays, the more they impress me. They're just solid throughout. I wouldn't be surprised if they win 2 of the 3 in Boston then clinch at home. I also wouldn't be shocked if Boston went on a tear, they're just so powerful. That said, I think Tampa Bay is going to win the AL pennant and Philadelphia comes out of the AL.
October 14, 200817 yr Damn Cubs You see my rant? That said, I think Tampa Bay is going to win the AL pennant and Philadelphia comes out of the NL. Fixed that for ya . But, I agree...and, if that IS the case, GO TAMPA BAY! A World Series win for them and Florida teams would have won every single playoff series they've been in ... Florida Marlins, 1997 and 2003 ... and Rays this year. Course, I was hoping for a Red Sox/Dodgers series...with all of the former Red Sox on the LA team...and, of course, Joe Torre....he he.
