I know a lot of youse guys aren't fans of NASCAR, but I would just like to say that my job and GM at the dealership was kind enough to place two tickets for this weekend's AMP Energy 500 at Talladega Super Speedway on my desk, along with two passes to the Dodge Hospitality Tent and pre-race pit passes. SCORE!!!!

Where is Talladega relative to Montgomery, Birmingham and Tuscaloosa?

I think the funniest name for a town in Alabama is Valley, AL because it seemed as flat as a pancake from I-85 as I was transiting from Pensacola to Atlanta.

ASSCAR is lame and will always be lame. However, I'd see damn near anything if somebody just handed me the tickets for nothing. Also, I've had pit passes and hospitality tent passes to races in the past (my father owns a body shop and sometimes gets tickets from DuPont) and I think being able to go in the pits is way better than the race itself. You'll definitely enjoy it.

I had an awesome time. In relation to Montgomery Talladega is located to the north-northeast of town (more or less straight up US Hwy 231, then when 231 turns left (west) towards Childersburg, you stay straight on AL-21 which runs you straight into Talladega), from Birmingham or Tuscaloosa, you would take I-20 towards Atlanta and get off the Talladega exit and follow the signs. The pit passes were awesome, the driver's were in the driver's meeting at the time that we were allowed to rove the pits. Before the race, we were able to hang out in the Dodge tent and meet Kasey Kahne, Casey Mears, Richard Petty (yes, King Richard was there) Bobby Labonte, and a few other drivers. The national anthem was sung by the lead singer from 3 Doors Down and there was a flyover by a 4-ship of F-15C Eagles from the 1st Fighter Wing, Langley AFB, Virginia (I know that because they were low enough to read the tail codes). I really did enjoy the race and of course screamed myself very hoarse for Dale Earnhardt, Jr (I'm a member of Jr nation, and I don't care). I was a little upset when the wreck happened and took him out of the race, but I was also glad to see Tony Stewart get a win, he needed one. Overall, it was a great experience, my only gripe was that I wish I could have gotten notice about the tickets earlier and been able to either get a hotel room or a campsite so that we didn't have to drive like we did this time.
