Sad news... and I guess Chrysler cannot attract young buyers even with new product!

( and I intend NO disrespect to her, her family, or the ANYONE involved in this story.) I hope if I make it to 90, I have the shutzpah to buy a 400 horse pony car and get it loose!

OMG it's not safe enough! hehe

uh, yeah... hope the family was prepared for the inevitable before this happened.

im wondering if this is a trend. a local dodge dealer just got killed in his new srt-8 challenger 2 months ago... lost control and took out 2 utility poles. now just for the record his was twin supercharged with 850 rwhp but still.

i think i would rather go out in a car vanishing point style than wait for something to do me in.

I second that one, Cletus...although I will probably be in a GM product so that I go out in STYLE.

This reminds me of an ancient blue hair around here that has a brand new XLR-V. She's gotta be in her 80's and it takes her about five minutes to get in or out of it. I can just imagine this little old lady going to the local Cadillac dealer and asking for a new Coupe DeVille or Eldorado and being told by a salesman "I'm sorry, ma'am, but this is the only two-door Cadillac currently makes." Of course she signs on the dotted line since she's probably been driving two-door Cadillacs since Eisenhower was president, but I highly doubt she knows what she has or what it's capable of.

..... or maybe she does!

Wow, not good...but fascinatingly entertaining in a weird way.

Reminds me of the local 89 year old lady who, back in July, just drove up to the GM dealer and my saleslady one day in her '92 Mercury Sable and said "it's time for a new car...like this one", parking next to a new G8. She tried to show her some Buicks, but as she said "I really love the Pontiacs" and before long, was signing on the line for a new base '08 G8 V6 in dark gray. My saleslady was a little worried that it was too much car for her, especially when she didn't even want to test drive but rather test "ride" the first time, but she chirped the tires when she did first drive and I see her tooling around occasionally. She even lives in an apartment where she has to parallel park out front and does it without an issue daily.

At least she "only" got the V6...hah. Not all "old" people want chrome, soft, and silence, as you know a lot of us here won't. And when you have the cash--those who buy cars like these typically just write a check--why not?

Well, the gas pedal is the brake pedal and slamming into a pole is one issue, but aside from that...more power to them

That is sad and funny I wonder if it was an R/T. Caddycruiser that is funny that the old lady got a G8.

is it ironic that in the corner there was a ad for dodge saying "it'll grab you"

I second that one, Cletus...although I will probably be in a GM product so that I go out in STYLE.

+1

I've always said; "If I have to die, it needs to be in an american car at a high rate of speed with the heavy metal set to max volume."

:D

As far as the article... It's sad, but at the same time, I bet she was a very cool lady!

LOL!
