November 5, 200816 yr Yup, CNN is reporting it right now. California just closed. President-elect Obama.
November 5, 200816 yr Olberman just called Obama the political Neil Armstrong, equating his victory to man landing on the moon. The AP reports McCain just called Obama to concede.
November 5, 200816 yr All I can say is it's a pitiful, sad day for America.... (and I welcome all the barbs I know will come from my comments....) The end of America....as we know it.....
November 5, 200816 yr If anyone doesn't find the thought of a democratic congress, senate, and white house a little bit scary.....then they are hiding behind a HUGE rock....
November 5, 200816 yr The end of America as we know it isn't a bad thing per se. It is time for our nation to evolve. Chris
November 5, 200816 yr MSNBC just called Florida for Obama. McCain is conceding, his fanbois are booing. McCain would be wise to say, "We dont need you to boo, we need you to go back in time and make me run a better campaign."
November 5, 200816 yr It will be interesting to see what happens with actual policy over the next few months and years. Chris
November 5, 200816 yr Author The end of America....as we know it..... God I hope so. The current incarnation is sad.
November 5, 200816 yr Listening to McCain's concession speech right now. That happened quick, I just got home from class.
November 5, 200816 yr OMG! This is the first time in years that I have felt like things will go in a good direction! We finally got our country back!
November 5, 200816 yr Amazing that someone with no experience, no accomplishments, a racist mindset and a laundry list of subversives & radicals could actually swing this. Thousands of empty-headed idiots out there waving their arms to the rock star, the Messiah, to save them, to give them something they haven't earned and break the back of this country. You libs wanted "change", get ready to pay for it, and in more ways that one. Me, I'm switching to Financial Self-Preservation Mode starting tomorrow, and I recommend you all do the same.
November 5, 200816 yr OMG! This is the first time in years that I have felt like things will go in a good direction! We finally got our country back! +1 Chris
November 5, 200816 yr It will be interesting to see what happens with actual policy over the next few months and years. Chris Fu**ing scary.....that's what you'll see...... You think times are bad today? Tonight just made it worse. (Remember this is coming from someone that VOTED for Gore.....and Kerry.....) And if I see ONE MORE report covering the fact that it's significant that an african american got elected....I'm gonna destroy something. Are we voting RACE....or who will lead the country best? I can't WAIT to see all the grandstanding to come from the "minorities." (And I'm someone that would have GLADLY voted for Condelezza Rice....had she run....)
November 5, 200816 yr Author Thousands of empty-headed idiots Oh you mean the people boo'ing John McCain anytime he mentioned Obama in his concession speech.

Isn't that enough of that already? You honestly think the world is coming to an end because YESbama got elected?

I don't care for politics, but you might as well have summed up the 2004 election! While I'm at it... I think both parties screwed up. The Democrats had it in the bag by just choosing a solid candidate. They didn't need to go so extreme as to push two candidates that would be 'firsts' if elected. The Republicans then followed suit by picking Palin (I think they would have had a much better chance my again, choosing a solid VP candidate).

Democrats in control of the congress......democrats in control of the senate.....democrats in control of the white house. Yeah, that sounds like a good plan for the future of our country...... WTF????
November 5, 200816 yr title: like they havne't for several months?!!! we're boned...2010 can't come soon enough, unless the states get some backbone not that the other "option" was much better....
November 5, 200816 yr Isn't that enough of that already? You honestly think the world is coming to an end because YESbama got elected? Damn near......you just wait. I'd LOVE to revisit this conversation four years from now.....'cause you know we'll all be on here at that time....
November 5, 200816 yr Damn near......you just wait. I'd LOVE to revisit this conversation four years from now.....'cause you know we'll all be on here at that time.... I'm just glad I'll have a country to come back to.
November 5, 200816 yr The way I look at it, what we saw tonight is a vote for the future, for modernity; rather than for an outdated worldview of the past, which the failed neocon mindset represents.
November 5, 200816 yr Palin wasn't the final nail in McCain's presidential coffin, his campaign had been in ADHD mode for some time before she was selected. Biden was the safest choice possible for Obama, the best pick to reassure the country. First time voters made up 11% of the electorate, thats pretty special right there.
November 5, 200816 yr I'm just glad I'll have a country to come back to. The question is......what state will that country be in when you return? Your "Precious One" will not leave you much to return to.....
November 5, 200816 yr Author A line the republicans will be familiar with from 2000 & 2004. "Get over it."
November 5, 200816 yr The way I look at it, what we saw tonight is a vote for the future, for modernity; rather than for an outdated worldview of the past, which the failed neocon mindset represents. .....more like a vote for the past ("cough, cough....Jimmy Carter") and a vote for socialism......
November 5, 200816 yr A line the republicans will be familiar with from 2000 & 2004. "Get over it." I feel so sorry for you and so many others......
November 5, 200816 yr The way I look at it, what we saw tonight is a vote for the future, for modernity; rather than for an outdated worldview of the past, which the failed neocon mindset represents. I think the biggest failure is Reaganomics...followed by our militaristic approach to diplomacy. Chris
November 5, 200816 yr Author I feel so sorry for you and so many others...... Believe me, I feel more sorry for you.
November 5, 200816 yr .....more like a vote for the past ("cough, cough....Jimmy Carter") and a vote for socialism...... Carter was actually a much better president than Reagan, or Bush Jr, and at least as good as Bush Sr. Chris
November 5, 200816 yr The long, national nightmare in America will soon be over. Obama is too pragmatic to lead the country to a sharp left, though Congress will try to steer there.
November 5, 200816 yr Believe me, I feel more sorry for you. A blindsided view.....to think you won't be affected just as much is quite ignorant.....
November 5, 200816 yr Awww...the minority pities the majority. I don't pity anybody. As Martin Luther King said, tears will get you sympathy, sweat will get you progress. If nothing else this election got people to vote and get involved. Chris
November 5, 200816 yr The long, national nightmare in America will soon be over. Obama is too pragmatic to lead the country to a sharp left, though Congress will try to steer there. I think Obama is going to be the next JFK...and the anti-Reagan, in that he will start to undo some of the damage Reagan started 30 years ago... Chris
November 5, 200816 yr The question is......what state will that country be in when you return? Your "Precious One" will not leave you much to return to..... As opposed to getting it blown up after inciting wars with anyone who blinks at him? Obama has Volker and Buffet backing him on economic policy. Volker, not Reagan, was the one who ended the Carter era stagflation. As for your socialism comments.... if you're so against socialism. STOP f@#kING DRIVING ON THE ROADS I'M PAYING FOR!
November 5, 200816 yr I think Obama is going to be the next JFK... Chris ........so don't expect him around for too long?????
November 5, 200816 yr Think Bush is pissed about the massive number of people partying outside the White House? CNN shows it from time to time and it looks like an insane, Obama-happy crowd.
November 5, 200816 yr I think Obama is going to be the next JFK...and the anti-Reagan, in that he will start to undo some of the damage Reagan started 30 years ago... Chris Could be... maybe it will be end of the failed neocon movement. Consign them to the past where they belong.
