My caprice today had a problem of shifting way to early into 3rd making the car shake and want to stall. any ideas? fluid is clean and cherry red. engine is solid for the most part.

    What about 4th? The Bonneville did this when I first got it and that turned out to be the valve body. Remember these don t have the very best transmissions. Both of mine are rebuilt. Make sure the TV cable didnt somehow get out of adjustment. That can screw things up.
