November 17, 200817 yr Getting off your ass is officially a thing of the past. I heard on the radio today that you'll soon be able to order a pizza from Dominos through your TV. http://blog.wired.com/business/2008/07/tivo-to-cash-in.html It's amazing that we put so much effort into trying to do less.
November 17, 200817 yr My friend already orders her Dominos online. I'm not surprised by this. What I am surprised is that anyone would order pizza from Dominos as it's really the farthest thing from good pizza.

Laptop + wireless internet + dominos online = old news edit: and with skype, I don't even have to get up to get the phone if I need to call in an order
November 17, 200817 yr I once lived on Dominos for 3 straight days, and it was terrific, but this was many many moons ago. Sometimes I think 'labor-saving' efforts should be reversed; a great quantity of people would do themselves well by actually DOING something once in a while. Call it Waist-Saving or some such. Me, I almost slid off the metal roof of my shop this afternoon- I was up there leaf blowing, naturally. But at least I wasn't flattening couch cushions...
November 18, 200817 yr aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand we're officially one step closer to being morbidly obese lethargic blobs like the people in Wall-E. Does anybody else get the feeling we're headed for the existence shown in that movie if we don't start doing for ourselves again soon?
November 18, 200817 yr Well Reg hasn't gotten to this yet, so I'll say it. "Couch Commerce" sounds quite a bit like "Lap Dancing" to me.

When I was delivering, there was a woman who would instruct us to leave the pizzas on the bench on her porch, take the cash from under the doormat and keep the change. I always thought it was strange. Turns out she had a psychotic poodle that would freak out when the doorbell rang or when there were strangers around.

Interesting... my dogs start barking and jumping around when the doorbell rings. Actually, since I pay and tip online, I really don't need to appear at the door except to take the pizza (though I always check it before the delivery guy leaves, as Papa John's has a history of forgetting toppings).
November 19, 200817 yr >>"...we're officially one step closer to being morbidly obese lethargic blobs like the people in Wall-E..."<< Nailed it.
