November 20, 200817 yr http://www.cnn.com/2008/TECH/11/19/chainle...s.ap/index.html This is interesting, though I personally have very few problems with any of my chains. Couple this with Shimano's new electronic shifters/derailleurs, and you have a bike that's virtually maintenance free.
November 21, 200817 yr sounds cool, and I should probably buy a bike sometime. I need the exercise, and could use it to run around town.
November 21, 200817 yr Interesting, maintenance free? What about the tires? Slime and a lack of caring about traction take care of that little problem.
November 21, 200817 yr As much as I hate rubber timing belts used to drive metal components like the heavy valvetrain on V6 DOHC motors... this seems like a good use for a "belt" esp. if carbon fibre. Human power coupled with a belt is okay... but no one in the history of cars has ever gotten their shoelaces stuck in the timing chain of an SBC 350.
November 21, 200817 yr ZOMG! They're even offering an 8-speed when GM is still using 4-speeds !!!@!WELEVNETY!!!@@!! This will CRUSH Buick sales unless GM can come up with a 9-speed and also offer a 27.1 surround sound system, but they have to price it at thirty twelve thousand or less or no one will buy it! *spittle* </smk>
