November 24, 200817 yr Here is a very glowing/positive report of Acuras AWD system... http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do/Drive...topanel..1.*#20 Comments? Any thoughts on the G8's place in the sport sedan hierarchy, or of what sport sedan you would buy if you weren't going to buy GM? Chris
November 25, 200817 yr I wonder how a Legacy 2.5GT spec.B would run against it. BTW, I still go for the G8.
November 25, 200817 yr I'm witholding judgement of the new TL until I see one in person. I liked the design inside and out of the previous generation model quite a bit, though. As far GM goes, the SAAB Turbo X seems like the closest competitor to the TL SH-AWD. I think if I was looking for an AWD sports sedan, I'd look seriously at the A4, TL, and Turbo X. For a purely RWD model, the CTS and G8 are the most appealing to me...not sure I'd go back to BMW.
November 25, 200817 yr Fascinating how these oh-so-close vehicles are written about in terminology that implies yawning gaps between them: >>"3rd Place: The BMW 335i... wheels almost needed to be straight before the throttle could go all the way to the floor. The throttle response from its twin-turbo 300-hp inline-6 is only happy and snappy in the upper rpm range, and the steering feels indirect and slow in comparison. Great brakes, but this wasn't enough to make up the 2.7-second gap to the TL. It's just too slow to react. 4th Place: BMW 335xi... only further snubbed the responses of the sedan. The steering became less direct, the throttle response grew worse and the understeer became more pronounced. The added weight of the car was obvious, especially in a high-speed corner with an apex at the crest of a hill."<< What- Why no CTS competition, honda ??
November 26, 200817 yr I cannot get over the styling of the new TL, its just too oddball, even in the flesh. Their new interiors are a little too button crazy as well. I like techie toys but they leave me cold.
November 26, 200817 yr i saw a TL on the road the other day and was frightened by the grille. you know, all this active AWD stuff, all this complication. its great, but, who's gonna and how much is it gonna cost to fix it when it breaks? i don't make enough $$$$$$ to have a car like that that could bankrupt me once its out of warranty.

The key thing is to trade it before it's out of warranty. I wouldn't want any of today's complex cars once they are out of warranty.
