December 3, 200817 yr Christmas is coming soon. I'm looking for any new ideas for Christmas DVDs. Any favorites or reviews of not so good ones? Edited December 3, 200817 yr by HarleyEarl
December 3, 200817 yr "A Christmas Carol" starring Alistair Sim from 1951. This is the one that I grew up with.
December 3, 200817 yr Author Patrick Stewart's version of Christmas Carol. Simply the best. Thanks for the thumbs up on this one....have never seen it...I'll try to get it.
December 3, 200817 yr Author One that has become a favorite over the years and has such universal appeal is: 'A Christmas Story'
December 3, 200817 yr A Christmas Story, I gotta admit, is a sweet little tradition. EDIT: OMG!!!! Your post was not there when I posted this! Edited December 3, 200817 yr by ocnblu
December 3, 200817 yr Author A Christmas Story, I gotta admit, is a sweet little tradition. EDIT: OMG!!!! Your post was not there when I posted this! Love those little coincidences. It's a big favorite of mine. We all can relate to this family at Christmas. I still chuckle over the father and that freakin lamp. Frageelay(fragile), it must be from Italy. Ha ha.
December 3, 200817 yr Author The Family Stone Not strictly a Christmas movie, has it more as a backdrop, but enjoyable nonetheless. http://www.apple.com/trailers/fox/the_family_stone/
December 3, 200817 yr What makes me laugh about A Christmas Story is when he sees "Fragile" and says, "Ah, Fra-gee-lay, must be Italian." Thing is, that is how you spell and pronounce it in Italian :AH-HA_wink:
December 3, 200817 yr Love, Actually is another good movie that is set during Christmas that I wouldn't necessarily classify as a Christmas movie, although it certainly has many Christmas themes throughout. For that matter, Die Hard is also set during Christmas. Nothing says "Merry Christmas" quite like the gift of Alan Rickman.
December 3, 200817 yr A Christmas Story just annoys me...way too cloying. There really isn't a favorite movie for me...but I always did enjoy the first Chrismukkah episode on The OC. Not really into holiday movies...they tend to be too kiddy and cheesy for my liking.
December 3, 200817 yr One that has become a favorite over the years and has such universal appeal is: 'A Christmas Story' I can't believe it took 8 posts to get to this... Best X-mas movie by far.
December 3, 200817 yr 1. A Christmas Story. 2. The night they saved Christmas. 3. Christmas comes to Willow Creek. 4. Christmas Vacation.
December 3, 200817 yr "A Wish for Wings that Work" (a must-see) "Year Without a Santa Claus" Chuck Jones' "Dr. Suess' How the Grinch Stole Christmas" and of course... "Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer"
December 3, 200817 yr Ernest Saves Christmas. "Ohhh Chirstmas tree, oh Christmas tree, ohhhhh Christmas tree oh Christmas tree..."
